Thank you for your interest in becoming JU’s Homecoming King or Queen, popularly known as our Big Man on Campus and Miss

Dolphina!

JU’s Homecoming King and Queen, fondly known as Big Man on Campus and Miss Dolphina, is an honor for the highest caliber

students.

Big Man on Campus and Miss Dolphina represent the values of Jacksonville University, and as such, they embody the traits of high

achieving Jacksonville University students. They are scholars, excelling in the classroom, engaged student leaders who contribute to a

lively and active campus and servants who give back to the greater Jacksonville community. Big Man on Campus and Miss Dolphina

are spirited, and their love for Jacksonville University is easily evidenced.

In total, Big Man on Campus and Miss Dolphina positively contribute in countless ways, and thus represent the best JU has to offer

while making Jacksonville University a better place.

Please see below for instructions, eligibility requirements, and the competition process.

Applicant Requirements:

Fully complete & electronically submit application by Thursday, October 17th

at 12:00pm (noon)

Have a 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA.

Be a full-time, matriculated, Junior or Senior JU undergraduate student

Previous Big Man on Campus or Miss Dolphina title recipients are not eligible. Former applicants can re-apply

Applicants must be available:

Monday, October 21st from 5:30 – 8:00pm (Initial Interviews)

Wednesday, October 23st from 6:00 – 9:00pm (BMOC / MD Pageant)

Thursday, October 24th

from 6:00 – 8:00pm (Top 3 Introduction @ Pep Rally)

Saturday, October 26th from 11:00 – 1:00pm (Crowning @ Homecoming Game)

Process:

Any interested student who meets the above eligibility and availability requirements can submit an application. Only students meeting

the eligibility requirements will be allowed to move into the evaluation process.

All eligible contestants (see applicant requirements above) will participate in an initial interview, Round 1, with faculty, staff and

administration

Scores are weighted, and after each round the collective weighted score determines those moving forward

5 male and 5 female applicants will move onto Round 2 and participate in the Big Man on Campus / Miss Dolphina Pageant

3 male and 3 female finalists will be selected to move onto the campus vote, based on the combined, weighted scores of the

interview and pageant. The top 6 finalists will be presented at the Homecoming Pep Rally

The entire JU community can voice their opinion, via vote, for the finalists

The 2013 BMOC and MD will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming Football Game
