Michael DiRocco, ESPN: He was scheduled to make $6 million in 2014 and 2015 but voided the final two years of his contract because of a rule in the new collective bargaining agreement that allows a vested veteran claimed after the trading deadline -- which the Jaguars did in 2012 -- to declare themselves a free agent after the season following the season in which he was claimed. Two days after he voided his deal, Babin signed a three-year contract worth $7.275 million that included a $500,000 signing bonus. Babin also received a $75,000 workout bonus but was also scheduled to earn a $500,000 roster bonus if he made the 53-man roster for the season opener.

Vito Stellino, Florida Times-Union: the Jaguars agreed to give him a fully guaranteed four-year $18.5 deal that will pay him almost half the contract — about $9.2 million — by the start of training camp next year. Blackmon, the team’s first-round draft pick, will get $7.1 million when he signs, plus a $390,000 base salary this year and roster bonuses of $700,000 next March and $1 million next July, according to a source familiar with the deal. His base salaries the next three years are $1.2 million, $2 million and $2.9 million. The protection the Jaguars got was the standard contract language that his guarantees are voided if he is suspended for an off-the-field incident. Also, about $4.8 million of what would have been a signing bonus of $11.9 million was turned into roster bonuses the next three years of $1.7 million in 2013, $1.7 million in 2013 and $1.3 million in 2014. The contract also includes no offset clause so if the Jaguars cut him at some point without him being suspended, he walks away with $18.5 million and can double dip by signing with another team.
![Page 8: Jacksonville Cap/Contract Notes · Web viewThe $1.25 million strictly for playing time was considered LTBE because Henne had 85 percent offensive playtime in 2013 (898 of 1,057](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022071001/5fbdb261359ae1731943812e/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: The four-game suspension will cost Blackmon $289,754 (4/17ths of his $1,231,455 base salary) and might void the guarantee language on the $10,722,248 in base salaries and annual roster bonuses that remain on his four-year, $18.512 million rookie contract. The Jaguars could also seek to recoup the prorated portion of his $7.11 million signing bonus for the weeks that he is suspended, which amounts to $418,235.
Joel Corry, NFP: Blackmon's suspension should also void $10,772,248 of guarantees in his '13-'15 contract years… [including roster bonuses of] $1.7M in '13 & '14. $1,393,372 in '15… Blackmon's cap # becomes $8,927,454 [if he’s cut without the guarantees voided.]

Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: Brady was scheduled to earn a base salary of $2.95 million… instead, he'll make $2.65 million this year under terms of the extension. Brady got a signing bonus of $1.945 million. His base salary is $655,000 for 2003 and he gets a $50,000 workout bonus. His salary cap charge was reduced from $5.176 million to $3.367 million, so at least the Jaguars created some room there. D. Orlando Ledbetter, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: He signed a five-year deal that averaged $990,000 per year. Darius received a $1.8 million signing bonus, with base salaries of $420,000 in 1998, $180,000 (1999), $216,000 (2000), $252,00 (2001) and $288,000 (2002). He's set to receive roster bonuses starting in 1999 of $345,000, $415,000, $480,00 and $552,000 in the final year.
Vito Stellion, Florida Times-Union: Darius counts $3.043 million, the figure he was guaranteed when he signed the franchise tender.
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: Darius signed the one-year qualifying offer of $4.113 million for a franchise safety. It marked the second consecutive spring Darius signed the one-year franchise offer…
Vic Ketchman, jaguars.com: It took three years and three “franchise” designations, but the Jaguars and safety Donovin Darius finally agreed on a long-term contract. The four-year deal runs through the 2008 season and puts $4.968 million in Darius’ hands this year. Darius would’ve earned the same as a “franchise” player this season.

Also, $1.25 million was strictly for offense playing time, beginning at 25 percent with him receiving $250,000 and topping out 75 percent for the entire amount. Henne also had $1.25 million in incentives for 75 percent playtime and team success. Eight wins was the lowest success threshold. Vito Stellino, Florida Times-Union: The five-year deal that Jones and his agents agreed to after midnight Monday includes an escalator clause in the final season worth up to $2.7 million in additional salary depending on how well he plays his first four seasons. The total deal will be worth $11.15 million if he reaches all incentives. The base deal calls for Jones, who was introduced at a news conference Tuesday with one of his agents, Dave Butz, after signing the deal, to make $8.45 million over the next five years. That includes a $1.03 million roster bonus this year and a $5.04 million option bonus that will be paid out over the next two years for salary cap purposes. The escalators, which start at $100,000 for 40 catches a season, give Jones an incentive to get off to a fast start.
Matt Jones' five-year contract at a glance: -- First year base salary: $230,000 -- First year roster bonus: $1,030,000 -- Option bonus paid in two parts the next two years: $5,040,000. -- 2006 base salary: $310,000. -- 2007 base salary: $600,000. -- 2008 base salary: $650,000. -- 2009 base salary: $590,000. -- Total value: $8,450,000. -- The package also includes an escalator clause that can earn Jones up to $2.7 million more in salary in 2009 that would boost the total value to $11.15 million. The incentives are tied to catches and touchdowns. For example, each time he catches 40-49 passes the first four years, he earns $100,000. 50- 59 earns him another $145,000; 60-69 earns him another $180,000; and 70 or more is worth another $250,000.

Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Monroe, the eighth overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft out of the University of Virginia, signed a six-year, $35.4M contract with the Jaguars last August. Monroe received a $1.45 million dollar guaranteed roster bonus, and earned a fully guaranteed $310,000 base salary during his rookie season. This off-season, Monroe received a $6.9875M option bonus, which reduced his base salaries to $802,500 (2010), $1,242,500 (2011), $1,682,500 (2012), $2,122,500 (2013), and $2,562,500 (2014), with those salaries guaranteed for injury only. By being on the roster on April 5, 2010, i.e. today, the salaries for 2010-12 are now guaranteed for skill and cap, as well. Monroe is also likely to receive a one-time payment of over $6 million dollars, perhaps as early as this year's training camp, which when paid, would reduce the guaranteed portion of his 2012 base salary to $500,000.
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Monroe's five-year contract is worth $25 million, with $19.02 million guaranteed. Monroe's deal has already paid out $17.482 million over the first two years.

Mike Florio, PFT: Per a league source, Osgood received a signing bonus of $2.2 million. He has a guaranteed base salary in 2010 of $775,000, along with a $25,000 workout bonus. Next year, his base climbs to $1.475 million, with another $25,000 workout bonus. Then, in 2012, he'll receive a base salary of $2.175 million and another $25,000 workout bonus. So the base value of the deal is $6.675 million, with $2.975 million guaranteed. Here's the kicker -- he can make a lot more if he becomes a competent pass-catcher. Each year, he's eligible for up to $1.3 million in incentives based on receptions. For 40, he gets $200,000. With 10 more, he gets another $400,000. Another 10? He gets $700,000 more, for a total of 1.3 million. He also is eligible for an annual Pro Bowl bonus of $100,000, regardless of whether he makes it as a special-teams player or as a receiver.

Pete Prisco, Florida Times-Union: Pritchett, who finished the season on injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, was to have received a $ 500,000 bonus in mid-February if the Jaguars kept him on the roster. But by working out a new deal, the Jaguars will not have to pay the roster bonus.

John McClain, Houston Chronicle: Robinson, a four-year starter on the left side, signed a four-year contract with Jacksonville for $10.4 million Thursday. Robinson gets a signing bonus of $3.4 million and base salaries of $1.5 million, $1.7 million, $1.8 million and $2 million.

Pete Prisco, Florida Times-Union: Robinson is scheduled to make $1.8 million this season, but will almost certainly be asked to take a pay cut. If he refuses, the team could release him or simply keep him as an expensive backup. If the team does choose to release him, it would do so after June 1, when it can lessen the hit on the amortized portion of his bonus. If Robinson is released now, the $1.7 million of amortized bonus would count against this year's cap, which would still save the team $950,000 of cap room. If he is released after June 1, the team would count only $850,000 of the bonus against this year's cap

Adam Schefter, ESPN: Jacksonville reached agreement with former Dallas free-agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson on a five-year, $32.5 million deal.
Mike Florio, PFT: Robinson pocketed from the Jaguars an $8 million signing bonus, along with another $5.6 million in fully-guaranteed money… Robinson’s payout consists of a $1 million fully-guaranteed base salary in 2012, a fully-guaranteed $2 million roster bonus in 2012, a fully-guaranteed base salary of $2.6 million in 2013, and the following non-guaranteed base salaries in 2014 through 2016: $5.6 million, $6.4 million, and $6.4 million… Robinson also is eligible for a $100,000 workout bonus per year, and up to $600,000 each season in incentive payments.
Paul Kuharsky, ESPN: although he’s due $2.6 million in base salary, he has the club’s fourth-highest cap number in 2013 at $6.3 million. Cutting him, though, would actually cost the team $100,000 more against the cap in 2013 than keeping him, because his remaining prorated bonus would result in an accelerated $6.4 million hit.

Vito Stellino, Florida Times-Union: Taylor is scheduled to earn an $816,000 base salary and a $500,000 roster bonus this season in the final year of the contract he signed as a rookie.
AP: The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed running back Fred Taylor to a five-year, $20 million contract yesterday after he produced the best season of his career. The contract includes an $8 million signing bonus.
KFFL: Taylor will lose $40,000 for not dressing for the game and he might miss out on 1,300 yards rushing for the season, which would cost him another $140,000 in incentives.
AP: Included in the contract is a $140,000 incentive if Taylor reaches 1,000 yards rushing. He earns an extra $140,000 for every 100 yards he gains after that; the bonus increases to $200,000 at 1,600 and every 100-yard increment up to 2,000.
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: Taylor was under contract for the 2007 campaign, so the extension essentially creates a four-year deal which is worth $23 million… Taylor was to have earned a base salary of $2.55 million for 2007. The new deal reduces his base salary to $800,000 but also rewards Taylor with a $4.2 million roster bonus, bringing his total compensation for 2007 to $5 million. For the 2008-2010 seasons, Taylor is due annual spring roster bonuses of $1 million each. The base salaries for those years, which represent the extension part of the contract, are $4 million for 2008, $5 million for 2009 and $6 million for 2010.

Another $3 million in 2017 base salary is guaranteed for injury at signing, and it becomes fully guaranteed on the fifth day of the 2017 waiver period. The total base salary is $7 million in 2017, $8.5 million in 2018, and $9 million in 2019. Vito Stellino, Florida Times-Union: Thomas became the Jaguars' second draft pick to come to terms Thursday when he agreed to a four-year deal with a $507,450 signing bonus. Thomas also will receive the minimum salaries of $310,000, $385,000, $480,000 and $565,000.
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Thomas received a $2.5 million signing bonus and his $525,000 base salary this season is now fully guaranteed. That's the extent of fully guaranteed money in the extension. Thomas' 2012 base salary was increased to $1.45 million, which is guaranteed for injury only at the time of signing, but will become fully guaranteed if he's on the roster on April 5, 2012. Thomas also has a $3.5 million roster bonus due on the 5th day of the 2012 league year that is guaranteed for injury only. Thomas had been scheduled to earn the league minimum ($615,000) in 2012, so the $1.45 million salary appears to be a big bump. However, Thomas' rookie contract provided the opportunity to increase his 2012 base salary through playing-time incentives in 2009, 2010 or 2011. With Thomas starting 19 of his 34 games in the NFL prior to the extension, next year's base salary was likely going to increase to a minimum of $1.3 million, possibly higher if the low restricted free agent tender in 2012 exceeds that amount. In 2013, Thomas will earn $1.45 million in base salary, $1 million of which is guaranteed for injury only now, but will become fully guaranteed if he's on the roster on April 5, 2013. Thomas has base salaries of $3.45 million in 2014 and $3.71 million in 2015, with $50,000 workout bonuses available from 2012-15. Pro Bowl incentives totaling $1 million are also available over the next five seasons. If Thomas earns the maximum amount of the the deal, he'll take home $17.785 million over the next five seasons.
