RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF
INSPECTOR (LIBRARIAN)
Applications are invited from Indian citizens ( Male or Female) for filling up the existing 01
(One) vacancy ofU.R. category on temporary basis likely to be permanent, in the post of
Inspector (Librarian), Group 'B' in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force. The post has All India
liability and selected candidate can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad. The selected
candidate will have to complete the prescribed basic training successfully. On appointment, the
candidate shall be governed by the ITBPF Act and Rules.
2. Last date for receipt of applications is 31.03.2014 for all States except for Assam,
Meghalaya. Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland. Tripura. Sikkim, Ladakh Division
of Jammu &Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District
of Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of Andaman &Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep for
which last date is 07/04/2014.
3. PAY SCALE AND OTHER ALLOWANCES:-
a) PaY.Scale;-l,'ay Band -2, Rs. 9300 - 34800 plus Grade Pay ofRs. 4600/- per month.
b) Other allowances: The post will carry Dearness Allowance, Ration Money,
Washing Allowance as admissible from time to time, Special Compensatory
Allowance while posted in specified border areas, free uniform, free accommodation
or HRA" Transport Allowance, Free leave pass and any other allowance asadmissible in the Force from time to time under the rules/instructions. The post will
be covered under new Restructured Defined contribution Pension scheme.
4. A candidate appearing for the test should mention/intimate if any criminal case(s) is/are
pending/lodged against him in any police station/Hon'ble court.
5. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
(i) AGE: ,- 20 to 30 years. Cut off date for determining the age will be-31/03/2014.
Note :-
(a) Upper age limit is relaxable for Government servants upto five years in accordance with
the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.
(b) Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the following categories:-
i) The children and dependent family members of those killed in 1984 riots and riots of2002 in Gujarat. Children and dependent family member should produce a certificate
to that effect from the Collector of the concerned District where the victim was
killed.
ii) In case of all persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu &
Kas.~r;.irdpring the period from 1st day of January 1980 to 31st day of December
1989.

c). Ex-Servicemen:- An Ex-serviceman, who has put in not less than six months
continuous service in the Armed Forces, shall be allowed to deduct the period of such
service from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum
age by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age
limit.'i,
(ii) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:-
i) Graduate from a recognized university;
ii) Degree in Library Science or equivalent from a recognized University or Institution;
iii) Certificate course in Computer Application from recognized Institute;
iv) Minimum two years professional experience in a Library under Central Govet/State
Govt or University or Research Institution.

(b) The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint in eyes.
(c) Must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to
interfere with the efficient performance of duties.(d) Any candidate with a small engraving Tattoo of name of religious symbol on the inner
face of the arms or hands is permitted for enrolment. Candidate having permanent
Tattoo on any other part of body shall be debarred for recruitment.
6. HOW TO APPLY AND BYWHICHDATE:-
Eligible and interested candidates should send their Applications (duly filled in Hindi or
English only) complete in all respects and Candidate's Admit Card duly filled, in the prescribed
proforma as per Annexure 'I' and Annexure 'II'. The application, either type written or neatly
hand written in ink/ball pen, on one side only on full size plain paper with passport size
photographs affixed on application should be sent alongwith application fee, and attested copies oftestimonials as in para 8 to the 'The Director Academy, ITBP Academy, P.O. Mussoorie, Distt
: Dehradun (UKD)-248007" so as to reach on or before the prescribed last date i.e. 31/03/2014 for
all States except for Assam, Meg,halaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland,
Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu &Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi
Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of Andaman &
Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep for which last date is 07/04/2014.
7. APPLICATION FEE:- The candidates belonging to all categories will be required to pay
Rs. 50/- (non refundable) as application fee in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS), in
favour of "The Director Academy, ITBP Academy, P.O. Mussoorie, Distt : Dehradun (UKD)-
248007". No fee will be charged from Ex-Servi~emen and Female candidates. The CRFS shouldaffix the CRFS at the specified space on the application form and get them cancelled as well.
8. ENCLOSURES REQUIRED TO BE ATTACHED WITH APPLICATION:-
Attested copies of following documents/certificates are required to be attached with theapplication form:-
a) Educational and professional (Professional experience in Library) certificates.
b) Date of birth Certificate (Matriculation Certificate or Municipal Birth Certificate as proof of
date of birth).

c) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC Certificate (if belonging to any of these
categories) issued by an authority not lower than Tehsildar or SDM/SDO.
Note: - SC/ST/OBC Certificate, as applicable, must be in prescribed proforma as
given at Annexure - III & IV. However, subject vacancy is only for UR(Gen.)
category.d) Domicile Certificate issued by local revenue authorities or PAN Card or Adhar Card
or Driving License or Voter Card etc for verification of citizenship.
e) Certificate as per Annexure 'V' for claiming relaxation in height & chest (if
applicable)
1) Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen.
g) Two latest passport size photographs. (one pasted on application form and another on
admit card) :
h) CRFS ofRs.50/- (appJicable for all Candidates except Ex-servicemen and female).
i) One self addressed envelope of 4" x 9" size with Rs. 25/- postage stamp affixed on
the envelope.

Note- All~he above relevant original documents/certificates are required to be brought at
the time of recruitment test for verification by the board.
9. SELECTION PROCESS:- The candidates whose applications are found to be in order
shall be issued Admit Cards to appear in recruitment test. The date and place of recruitment test
will be indicated in Admit card. Candidates will have to undergo the following tests:-
a) Height Bar - At the very beginning of recruitment process, candidates will be asked to go
through the height bar test. The candidates not meeting the prescribed height will be
eliminated.
(b) Race - i) The candidates, who qualify the Height Bar Test, will be subjected to qualify 1.6
Kms race to be completed within 10 minutes (for male) and 12 minutes (for female)
candidates before appearing in further tests. No marks will be awarded for this test and it
will be only qualifying in nature. ,Departmental candidates and Ex Service Men are
exempted from appearing in the event of Race.
ii). Pregnancy at the time of PET(Race) will be considered a disqualification and pregnant
female candidate shall be rejected at this stage.
(c) Checking of documents:'; The original documents of candidates will be checked by the
board. Original documents of candidates will be returned on the spot after verification
and photocopies will be retained with the application form. Candidates those who clearthis stage will go to next event.
d) Physical Standard Test(PST):- Candidates who are found eligible on verification of
documents will be screened first for Height, Chest (for male candidates only) and
Weight measurementsiby the board. Those who do not meet the required Physical
Measurements will be eliminated at this stage.

(e) Merit List:- Merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the
candidates in the written examination and interview.
(t) Detailed Medical Examination:-
Candidates shortlisted in order of merit will be put through a Detailed MedicalExamination to assess their fitness.
(g) Appeal against rejection in detailed medical examination:-
i) A candidate declared unfit in detailed medical examination, if not satisfied
with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for his/her re-
medical examination with duly filled Medical Fitness Certificate in the
prescribed proforma (Annexure 'VI') as a piece of evidence about possibility
of error of judgment in the decision of the Medical Officer at the time of
Recruitment.
ii) The appeal for re-medical examination will not be taken into consideration
unless it contains duly filled medical fitness certificate in the prescribed
proforma (Annexure 'VI'), a note by the medical practitioner concerned to the
effect that it has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has
already been rejected as unfit for appointment by a Medical Officer alongwith
attestation of candidate's photographs and signature by the Medical
Practitioner.

iii) The appeal for re-medical examination will not be taken into consideration
