II. Co%e Com4etene5The curriculum of Instrumentation is framed to encompass solid
mathematical foundation reuired for analysis of automation and instrumentation systems,
apart from electronic, instrumentation and computer fundamentals reuired to either pursue
higher studies or to solve technical problems of relevance to industry.
III. B%eadt-5To encourage the students of instrumentation to be thorough in their basics so
that they can design and develop new solutions and prototypes through hobby proects so that
they can tackle the real life engineering problems effectively in future.

Students are free to choose their proect partners from any department, as
interdisciplinary proects are allowed. Each student in the team must contribute towards the successful completion of the
proect. The proect may be carried out In!house + Industry + R / ) Institution.
The project work is to be carried out by a team o two to our students ! in
e"ceptional cases like the student is placed in a company and oered an internship
through the competitive process or student is selected or internship at national or
international level through competitive process in su- ases ,students can work
independently. & reasonable inter disciplinary work is also acceptable.
The students are allowed to do either a project or ull # days in the industry or ull
# days in the college$
In case the project work is carried out outside %angalore! such students must be
available during Project &valuation process scheduled by the respective
departments and they must also interact with their guide regularly through &mail '
(ebinar ' )kype etc$

The proect work should be carried out in the college, in case the proect is given by or
suggested by the faculty. 0or any additional facilities reuired for testing etc., students are
permitted to visit the research labs, where those facilities are available.
Attendane Reui%ement5
Students are reuired to satisfy minimum attendance criteria as prescribed by the
Institution, i.e. ">7N$.
Students who are doing proect work in the industries are reuired to go to theindustry for full 7 days.
Students who are doing proect work in the college, are reuired to come to the
college for full 7 days "#onday! 0riday$ and attendance is mandatory.
Students are reuested to adhere to the schedule of various phases of proect work.
#%o2et E3aluation5
*ontinuous monitoring of proect work will be carried out and cumulative evaluation will
be done.
=ee"l! Ati3it! Re4o%thas to be maintained by the proect batch and the same has to be
discussed with the Internal (uide regularly. In case ofIndustry project, during the course of proect work, the internal guides will be
in constant touch with external guides and will visit the industry at least thrice, for
assessment.
The students are reuired to meet their internal guides once in a week to report their
progress in proect work.
0or *IE assessment the proect groups must give a final seminar with the draft copy of
the proect report in place of synopsis.
The presentation by each group will be for 86!56 minutes.
The proect team is reuired to submit 9ard copies of the detailed 'roect Report in the
prescribed format as well as Soft copy on a *) and will be checked for plagiarism. &t least one publication in reputed ournal+conference is a must.
0or *IE 76N weightage should be given to the proect guide and 76N weightage to the
proect evaluation committee.
The 'roect team is reuired to demonstrate the functioning of the modules and the
integrated application along with a presentation on the details of the proect carried out
during the Semester End Examination "SEE$ in the department.
