The project team reviewed the current information systems at VCR.

The VCR maintained and processed four general types of information:

1. payroll,2. expenses,3. donors, and4. volunteer information.

Terminology was initially unfamiliarStation is a place where volunteers

work by devoting their time and effort.A job refers to a specific activity that a

volunteer performs at a specific station.Placement is the process of matching

volunteers, depending on their skills and interests, with specific jobs at stations..

Currently, VCR uses an electronic system for maintaining senior volunteers, 55 and Older.

Their activities under the retired and senior Volunteer Program.

Activities of all other volunteers (younger than 55 years) are maintained using paper processes.

Jeff and his team documented the current business processes using UML documentation such as the use-case diagram.

Jeff McCoy, leader of the project team, created use-case diagram to illustrate the different activities performed by the current electronic system.
