Board Member recruitment SCRA is currently recruing two new Board Members. The vacancies were adversed on the Public Appointments website yesterday. To help promote the recruitment drive, a short film has been made which you can view above. Please help us spread the word and pass the link on to colleagues so we can reach out to to as many potenal candidates as possible. The closing date is Friday 20 November. Children and Families Survey 2015 SCRA has published the findings of our Children and Families Survey 2015. This is our third naonal survey of children, young people, parents and carers aending Children’s Hearings. The survey aims to assess performance, and idenfy areas of good pracce and those for improvement. A total of 520 people took part in the survey – thanks to everyone who contributed. You can view the findings here. However, as the numbers were lower than the previous survey, we will be carrying out a further survey in 2016 to get a fuller picture of the views of children and families. Research on the well-being of supported young people SCRA has today published a new research report on the ‘Well-Being of Supported Young People in Scotland’. The study, carried out by SCRA’s Informaon and Research Team, looked at the extent to which supported young people in Scotland consider themselves to be Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Acve, Respected, Responsible and Included (SHANARRI). The suite of documents include: Annual Report Annual Accounts Sustainability Report The report contains a foreword, authored by SCRA’s Chair Carole Wilkinson and an introductory message from SCRA’s Principal Reporter/Chief Execuve Neil Hunter. It also includes some of the highlights and achievements in 2014/15 and our ‘year at a glance’ secon. The report contains a summary stascal report, which provides stascal informaon and analysis on referrals and on children and young people referred to the Reporter in 2014/15. The more in-depth Official Stascs were published on 30 July 2015. You can view the reports in the Publicaons secon of our website. SCRA welcomes new Modern Apprentices SCRA has appointed three new Modern Apprences. The three new recruits started last month, working in Head Office and in our operaonal teams in Kilmarnock and Inverness. This is SCRA’s third cohort of apprences who have experience of the Children’s Hearings System and/or being in care.
