The Shawnee lived in wigwams, but each Shawnee village had a larger council house built from wood. Today, Shawnee live in regular houses and apartments.

6. Shawneedancer
Shawnee dances were very religious and were to honor their spirits. There ritual year started with the spring bread dance and closed with the fall bread dance. Some Shawnee groups had a green corn dance.

Shawnee warriors used bows and arrows, stone tomahawks, war clubs and spears.

The Shawnee lived in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Today they live in Oklahoma.
10. Shawnee fisherman used spears and nets. The Shawnee did not have guns like in the picture, or like the Iroquois. They hunted in small groups of 2 or 3.

11. The Shawnee ate deer, bear, bison meat, raccoon, rabbit, squirrel, muskrat, woodchuck, turkey, duck, geese, grouse, partridge, seagulls, snakes, and eels. If they had to, they would also eat pigeon. From farming they would raise maize, beans, squashes, pumpkins, melons, and wild fruit like berries and nuts.
