Refund PolicyA full refund or account credit will be issued for programscancelled by Parks and Recreation or if the participant notifiesthe department prior to the start of the program.

No refund will be issued for any reason from the halfwaypoint of a program session to conclusion.

Prorated refunds will be issued after the program has begunfor the following reasons.

• Moving outside Shawnee County.• Illness (provide doctor’s excuse).• Program is unsatisfactory to participant.

Athletic refunds will be issued in full if the Athletic Office isnotified at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the initial startdate of the league season. Refunds after this time will beissued with a 40% service charge.

A $30 service charge will be assessed for all checks returnedby the bank.

Registration VerificationParticipants will not be contacted unless there is a problem orquestion with the registration form or your program has changed,cancelled or combined. If you do not hear from us, you areenrolled.

CancellationPrograms may be combined or cancelled due to insufficientenrollment. In either event you will be notified by phone ormail for your request: acceptance, transfer, credit or refund.

Attention Parents/ParticipantsA $10 service fee is added to anyparticipant registering after thedeadline for any LEAGUE SPORTincluding but not limited to: soccer, t-ball, flag football, machine pitch,hockey, baseball, basketball,volleyball or softball. Placement afterthe deadline is not guaranteed.

Be a CoachParents are needed to volunteer coachvarious sports throughout the year. Wewill provide resources to assist you in

communicating to participants and parents. One child receivesfree participation for your time. Volunteers are asked to submitinformation for a SCPR volunteer background check and attenda coach’s meeting prior to being allowed to coach youth sports.Please contact us for more information. BE A COACH does notapply to all our youth sports programs.

SCHEDULE: When creating league schedules all requestsand conditions are evaluated to devise the optimalschedule prior to its release. SCPR reserves the right tochange, alter, or decline requests and we require a five(5) day notice along with a $30 administration fee forany schedule alteration (paid only by requestor). Teamsmay have to play doubleheaders, play early and/orlate games, travel within the community, accept the currentonline schedule or even forfeit. Your opponent shouldbe contacted first about your request, then at both theother team’s and our discretion the schedule may or maynot be edited depending on other conditions.

Athletic Youth StandardsEnrollment for your son or daughter in our programrequires you to fill out and sign a registration form, payat the time of registration, travel within the community,and parents are required to fully understand and acceptour Code of Ethics. Our staff, coaches, officials, andvolunteers are held accountable so we must expect thesame from parents. Sign up individually and we will placeyour child on a team. Teams are formed according toonly those registrations received. SCPR may or may notaccept registrations to fill teams or leagues. No guaranteedplacement of individuals on teams, however, we do tryto create teams based on locality, schools, neighborhoods,and coach preferences. View our refund policy prior toregistering your child. SCPR reserves the right to modifythe sports environment to benefit the youth participating.Our goal is to provide a positive sports environment toyouth during their developmental years. Parents arehighly encouraged to attend any coaches meetings.

Adult League PoliciesRegistering a team to participate in our adult leaguesports does not guarantee placement. Please registerearly in the process to ensure participation. Leaguesize may be limited and SCPR reserves the right toplace your team in a different league on a differentnight if deemed necessary. Make up games, due toany reason, will be rescheduled with relation to fieldavailability and teams must play the game or accepta forfeit. BOCCE BALLBocce will be played at the court located at the east end of theFelker Park Softball Complex parking lot, 2500 SW Gage. Thecourt is available on a first come, first serve basis. The par-70 layout at Lake Shawnee Golf Course measures over 6300 yards from theback tees. It was designed by Larry W. Flatt in 1972 and updated by Craig Schreiner.Many holes of the golf course bring together breathtaking views and the challenges ofplaying alongside Lake Shawnee. The manageable length of the golf course and affordableanytime rates make Lake Shawnee Golf Course yourbest choice for outdoor recreation.

Cypress Ridge Golf Course offers a great challenge for golfers of all ages and skill levels.With 6,200 rolling yards of excellent golf Cypress Ridge is located on the western edgeof the Capital City. It is conveniently located approximately one and half miles west of theWanamaker corridor just south of 21st street.

Forbes is a 9-Hole par-36 layout onthe southeast side of ShawneeCounty measuring 3,253 yards fromthe back tees. The course wasdesigned by Bob E. Baldock in 1962.The course offers a relaxedatmosphere for golfers of all skill levels,and has 3 sets of tees on a links stylelayout. The course can be challengingfor the experienced, yet easy enoughfor beginners.
