IriSecureID is a cloud-based service providing variety of iris recognition functions including enrollment, verification, identification, and de-duplication to applications and enterprise service developers. Applications: Healthcare: Using iris recognition functions on cloud will improve the delivery of healthcare services. The storage of medical record and patient information will only be revealed with the matched iris image in order to enhance the data security. Finance and Banking: Easily scaling up operations without incurring additional costs normally associated with increase of manpower or additional hardware and software. The bank can mitigate certain functions such as client registration and banking transaction that require a matched iris to process. Other Security Applications: The computer and IT industry always encounter hackers and other security attacks. It is crucial to do authentication on cloud which embraces high level of security and agility.

The commonest problem is that passwords are easily

forgotten, swapped and stolen. Besides, identity theft

and fraud are widely known for its crimes that cost

online retailers and web-based businesses (e.g.

insurance companies, healthcare companies, banking

and financial institutions) billions of dollars every

year. Thus, identity authentication becomes the

highest importance. With an increasing number of

criminals seeking to exploit online systems to hack

into user accounts and profit from identity theft or

even online impersonation, how would password continue to protect their personal identity?

By utilizing the impeccable characters of the cloud, iris

biometric data can be easily stored or retrieved, and

securely transmitted from one place to another without

any potential breach along the wire. Aside from its

convenience, flexibility and scalability; iris biometrics on

The use of iris recognition is to determine whether or

not someone is truly who they say they are. Another

substantial aspect of the iris based identity

authentication is that the iris image is fast captured,

IriSecureID is a cloud-based iris recognition service built on top of

IriTech’s world-class iris biometrics technology to provide iris

recognition and identity management for online and mobile

applications. It has been acutely designed to enable customers to easily

develop or incorporate into their existing server components, business

service modules and/or end-user applications. Being deployed as a web

service interface using cloud computing, IriSecureID is highly portable,

Proven Technology

Secure by Design

All biometric data transferred between IriSecureID and client

applications are protected with strong Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

Those data will be encrypted with AES 256 bits and stored on the

server. The access to IriSecureID is managed by user access

management applying iris authentication. IriSecureID also supports

working with a ready implemented PKI in IriTech’s device that

provides an end-to-end security solution in which iris templates

were encrypted as device level.

IriSecureID only keeps the biometric data in order to perform the

matching on the server. All the biographic data and other identity

information will be separately managed by the customers

themselves in favor of keeping the privacy of this identity

information. Besides, IriSecureID stores the template information on

server assuring that iris images are never stored anywhere else.

Flexibility and Scalability

IriSecureID is designed to deliver a flexible, scalable, and adaptable

Biometrics as a Service (BaaS) on the cloud supporting a boundless

system resource, infrastructure, and database storage. As a cloud

computing service it dynamically scales up to any performance and

storage requirements. This allows IriSecureID to facilitate a wide

range of identity management solutions.

IriSecureID provides a safe and trusted iris-based authentication

through web service interface which enables a seamless integration

into other applications. IriSecureID also provides IriSecureIDAdapter,

a client development SDK in different programming languages such

with IriSecureID.

The speed of IriTech’s latest algorithm measured on a PC

(Intel Core i7, 6 cores, 3.33 GHz, 12GB RAM) is as follows.

Template generation speed: 8.42 templates/ sec/ core

(for 640x480 pixels iris images).

Template matching speed: 293,000 matches/ sec/ core

(for 1:1 matching) and 388,000 matches/ sec/ core (for

1:N matching).

IriSecureID is empowered with IriCore, which

is an iris recognition SDK which has been

developed by IriTech for many years. All of

the iris recognition algorithms packaged in

IriCore have been tested and proven to be

solid in performance by the NIST’s ICE &

IREX.
