    Who Produces the Guide?The 2014 Guide to Composting and Anaerobic Digestion is produced and edited by the Cr Composting and Anaerobic Digestion Association of Ireland.

    What Does the Guide Cover?The Guide lists information and contact details of organisations from the Ireland and NorthernIreland supplying services, goods and members of Cr. These include local authorities,consultants, compost facility operators, anaerobic digestion operators, waste managementcompanies, trade and education institutions.

    To raise the profile and awareness of membercompanies, a number of unique opportunities onlyavailable from Cr, have been created for membersincluding: a membership directory, sponsorshipopportunities, circulation of tenders,advertisement of available jobs, annual conference,members meetings, networking events anddeveloping business opportunities in Ireland andoverseas.

    We work on behalf of our members to raise thestatus of anaerobic digestion and composting. Cractively works with all relevant Governmentdepartments and agencies to assist them inunderstanding the issues affecting the sector andpropose workable solutions, appropriate industryregulation, training and standards. We regularlymake submissions to Government departments onissues relevant to our industry.

    Cr actively works with the followingdepartment/agencies:

    Environment Protection Agency

    Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food

    Department of Environment, Heritage and LocalGovernmentDepartment of Communication and NaturalResources and other regulatory bodies to influence decisionsin favour of our members.

    Cr works closely with the European CompostNetwork to have representation at EuropeanCommunity level on biowaste issues and the Animalby-Product Regulations. In addition to consultationwith regulators, Cr actively engages and informs keystakeholders that affect our industry, such as bodiesrepresenting sectors that produce waste and users ofcompost/digestate.Where possible Cr takes parts inGovernment working groups (e.g. Cr is a member ofGovernment High Level Action group on GreenEnterprise and the Department of Agriculture,Fisheries and Food Animal by-Product Forum.

    Cr has a strategy of developing and promotinggood practice and excellence in the industrythrough training. With consultation with ourmembers we developed a co-ordinated trainingprogramme for the industry.

    We deliver a wide range of courses. Thecornerstone course is the internationallyaccredited Cr- Institute of Technology Sligo-Certificate in Compost Facility Operation
