We offer four private Tours, Tastings and Picnics for parties of 12 or more. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and our tours are designed to accommodate various itineraries, time constraints and levels of knowledge about wine making. Our goal is provide an incomparable wine country experience for all. Each one begins with a history of our winery that includes a visit to the vineyards, crush pad, barrel-aging room, winery and bottling line. Then, your party will be escorted to a private area where you will be greeted by your personal wine steward who will present five wines available no where else than V. Sattui Winery. Our full attention will be focused on you and your guests.

The private tasting that follows the tour gives members of the group the opportunity to learn even more about the distinctive characteristics of the wines.

MEZZO GIORNOThis family-style Italian buffet is truly a midday feast which your guests will enjoy after the tour of the winery and the tasting. You will dine in a private area under the 250-year oak tree or on the iconic tower Vittorio Terrace, overlooking the vineyard, named after our founder. FAQQ How long is a typical tour, tasting and picnic?

A A typical tour, tasting and picnic is 2 and ½ hours. The winery tour is 30 minutes; the tasting is 1 hour and the meal is 1 hour. We hope our guests will be able to enjoy all three components of their visit, but if your party arrives 20 minutes or more after your reserved time, the tour portion of the event will be eliminated so that we can maintain the schedule for other guests’ reservations.

Q Are children allowed on the tour?

A We welcome children at the full cost per person. They will be touring the winery and grounds and will be given our non-alcoholic grape juice at the tasting. If you select one of our picnic packages, they will enjoy the same meal as the adults in your party. It is winery policy that minors do not outnumber those who are 21 and older.

Q What is the minimum and maximum size group?

A The minimum number of guests we can accommodate on our tours and tastings package is 12. The maximum number is 100.

Q Can tour guides be included in the meal but not the tasting?

A Yes, your tour guide can join your group for the meal at 15% off the full cost per person.

Q What is your bus/limousine policy?

A Because V. Sattui is such a popular destination in the Napa Valley, buses, vans and limousines are allowed on the property only on weekdays and Saturday and Sunday mornings until noon. We cannot accommodate these vehicles on weekend afternoons.

Q May we start our visit with the picnic first and have the tasting afterwards?

A Yes, if you prefer to start with the picnic, we can accommodate that request. Our goal is to customize your visit as much as possible. If you choose to do this, your tasting will take place as you enjoy your meal. The tour will begin after the tasting is finished.

Q If some guests do not want to participate in the wine tasting portion, is the price the same?

A Yes, the price per person remains the same. While our private tours and tastings have been designed for guests who want to taste, enjoy and learn about V. Sattui wines, we are happy to provide non-alcoholic grape juice for non-drinkers in the group.

Q Is it possible to change the wine menu choices?

A The wines we pour are selected with great care to give you and your guests the optimal variety and tasting of our quality wines available at varying price points. That means our tasting menu is set, but if you want to upgrade your selection of wines, we have a pre-selected premium wine package for your consideration.

Q May we decorate the area?

A We believe our unique setting surrounded by beautiful landscaping and vineyards needs no embellishments, so decorations are not permitted.

Q How is the food served?

A In the authentic Italian tradition of an informal family gathering at a vineyard estate, our picnics are served in a bountiful buffet style. Plates, flatware and napkins are disposable.

Q What if the weather is bad and we cannot have our picnic outside?

AWe are still able to conduct the winery tour in inclement weather and your picnic will be held in a reserved, indoor location.

Q Can you accommodate food allergies or diet preferences?

AYes; we always do our best to take our guests’ special requests into account. Please discuss any food restrictions with your V. Satttui host at the time of booking.

Q Is the area going to be completely private?

AV. Sattui is open to the public so it is likely that you will see other guests. However, the area designated for your tasting and picnic is reserved for the exclusive use of you and your guests for the allotted time. Special signage and winery staff members inform other guests that entry is not permitted into your private space.

Q May I reserve a private area for a picnic without the tasting?

AThe tasting of our award-winning wines is an integral part of the V. Sattui experience, so we do not offer private group picnics without the tasting.

Q May I reserve a picnic table in the area open to the pubic?

AWe do not reserve picnic tables in the public area. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q May I bring my own food and beverages?

AAll food and beverages must be purchased at V. Sattui. We do not allow any food or drinks to be brought onto the premises.

Q How do I secure the date?

AThe date of your event will be held as soon as we receive your signed agreement and deposit (50% of the total amount). We do not place a “hold” on a reservation request until the signed contract is received. The pricing per person is all-inclusive except for 8% CA tax. We do not charge a gratuity

Q What is your cancellation policy?

AAn exact count of guests must be given 14 days prior to the event and full payment for use of the facility must be received at this time. After 14 days, no money will be refunded for a decrease in guest count. Up to 3 days prior to the event, guest count may be increased. After that time, any permitted changes are subject to a service fee.
