IntroductionThank you for picking up your copy of the Moyle Local Produce Directory.

Managed by Moyle District Council’s Cultural Tourism Programme, theMenu of Moyle initiative strives to develop and promote the quality localproduce of the Moyle area. There are many benefits to be gained frombuying and using local produce as an alternative to mass-produced andimported goods, so please read on to see how you too can benefit fromsupporting your local producers.

Why Buy Local? By buying ‘local’ we will directly support and encourage our ruraleconomy in Moyle. We will not only help create a greater sense of pridein our community and in what we can achieve, but we will also benefitour environment (and our pockets!) by reducing the number of foodmiles and transport emissions we make. And with our increased useof fresh, traceable produce everyday, we all move towards enjoyinghealthier lifestyles.

This Moyle Local Produce Directory has been compiled to help you findout more about the local producers we have in the Moyle area.Included are bakers, confectioners, meat and seafood producers, vegetable and herb growers, as well as beverage and egg producers.Although we have worked hard to find as many producers as we can inthe Moyle area, the information in this directory outlines only those wewere able to source and those who agreed to take part. If you know ofany other producers who might like to join Menu of Moyle please let usknow - we would be delighted to include them in the future.

The Menu of Moyle CompetitionThe district-wide Menu of Moyle Competition runs annually from May toAugust in many eating establishments across the district. Competingchefs are encouraged to create their own authentic ‘Menu of Moyle’ byusing as much local produce as possible. They offer dishes thatrepresent the essence of theMoyle area, its produce and itstraditions, so when you choose todine in a participating ‘Menu ofMoyle’ restaurant, hotel, coffeeshop, brasserie or pub, you canexpect a truly enjoyable, local dining experiencewhilst supporting your local producers.

Thank you for supporting your Local Moyle Producer!
