Laila Majnu Ki Mazar or Mausoleum of Layla and Majnun is situated near Anupgarh, a town and manicipality in Sri Ganganagar District in the state of Rajasthan, India. According to the local legend, the famous lovers Layla and Majnun died here. A fair held in June is attended by hundreds of newlyweds and lovers.

The song Layla was written by Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon and originally released by their blues rock band Derek and the Dominos. Clapton was inspired to write the song after reading a copy of Nezami Ganjawi’s Layla and Majnun, as well as by his then unrequited love for Pattie Boyd, the wife of his friend and fellow musician George Harrison of The Beatles.
