Glorio Yulianto Indonesia
Glorio is what my friends call me. I was born in a beautiful and lovely country, Indonesia, and came to America in fall 2008. I like to make new friends and make jokes with them. I'm majoring in chemical engineering, yet also interested in politics, and I love to play badminton. For those of you who don't know me yet, I will be very happy to welcome, and furthermore to know and meet you at Shoreline Community College. I'm sure that we can become very good friends. Looking forward to meeting you my "friends."
Crystal FongHong Kong Hi everyone! My name is Crystal. I am from Hong Kong. I am now majoring in business here at Shoreline. Shoreline is a nice place where you can enjoy a nice studying environment and also meet friends from different countries. I like America since I had been to Kansas as an exchange student in 2007. My hobbies are singing, swimming and playing badminton. I love travelling and seeing new things around the world. I hope you will have fun in Seattle.
Kenneth Ho Singapore
Since coming here, I have grown to become more independent and mature. Shoreline has given me the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life and helped open my eyes to see the world in a different way. Currently, I’m majoring in Industrial Engineering and plan to transfer to a four year university. SCC has provided me with a healthy environment where I can focus on my goals and stay on track towards a successful career. I hope that you will enjoy your experience at SCC!

Liberto (Biochemistry) Surabaya, Indonesia
"At Shoreline, I felt like a community member, like among fellow Indonesian and all international students. Classes were much smaller and it was really easy to speak with my professors and get extra help or discussion. Because of that I think Shoreline was the best place to really learn what we studied."
Jocelyn (Journalism)Hong Kong
"A lot of students from an Asian country may not expect to develop a friendship with their teachers because of the cultural background (we were taught that teachers have a higher status than students and therefore we have to respect them), but then the teachers here actually are willing to learn more about our backgrounds and be friends with us. This is important for the school’s supportive environment and I think the teachers here have done a great job. During my time in Shoreline, I have met teachers that are going to be my life-long friends."
Yasuhiro, current student and Student Government President (Business)Tokyo, Japan
One of the many impressive features of Shoreline is that all employees feel comfortable, equal and encouraged to express their point of view with students they see. Moreover, many employees on campus have a deep understanding of international students. I think that Shoreline Community College has the best environment to gain global perspectives and contribute to the diversity of the United States.
