1.1 Introduction to cablesInternal cables (interconnection cables) in a network element are divided into intracabi-net cables and intercabinet cables. Intracabinet cables run only inside a cabinet and they are installed in the cabinets at the factory. The intercabinet cables run from one cabinet to another and they are installed at the site.

The equipping labels for internal cables are printed on a white background.

The intracabinet cables include the following cables:

Alarm and timing cables (AL, CLK) Changeover signal cables (CGS) ET cables (ET) Hotlink cables (Hotlink) PCM cables (PCM) Power supply cables (Power) Synchronisation cables (SYNC) Cabling between the TCSA cabinet and the cabling cabinet to large CPETx panelsThe intercabinet cables include cabling between the TCSA cabinet and the BSC-part (BSC3i 1000/2000 from S12 onwards, and Flexi BSC from S14 onwards) in the combined BSC/TCSM installation.

In S13 first deliveries and in S12 first deliveries from the second half of 2008 onwards, large CPETx panels used in the optional cabling cabinet are delivered with the cabinet. There are three cabling cabinet options:

1.2 Notations used in cabling listsThe tables in this document list all the intracabinet and intercabinet cables of the TCSM3i, including the cabling between the TCSA cabinet and the BSC-part (BSC3i 1000 or BSC3i 2000 from S12 onwards, and Flexi BSC from S14 onwards) in the combined BSC/TCSM installation option.

Each cable has its individual number. This number and the address of both ends of the cable are given. Both the name of the functional unit to which the end of the cable is con-nected and its coordinate are given in a table. The columns in the tables are used as follows:

Equipping No. shows the individual number of the cable. Both ends of the cable are marked with a label with this number on it.

Cabinet shows the name of the cabinet to which the cable is connected. FU or Panel shows the name of the functional unit or panel to which the cable is con-

nected. Position shows the coordinate of the connector to which the cable is connected. Type shows the type number of the cable. The type of the cable and the connectors

are coded in the first three or four letters, and the length of the cable is shown in the following three numbers. The length is given in centimeters if there is a letter C after the three numbers, and in decimeters if there is no letter after the three numbers.
