The spiritual atmosphere at Joliet Catholic Academy is what sets it apart from other area high schools. In support of JCA’s mission, four years of religious studies are required and a comprehensive spiritual life program is provided by a vibrant Campus Ministry department.

Campus Ministry implements programs that contribute to the spiritual welfare of the entire JCA community in developing a Roman Catholic environment that fosters a deep, personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ through the charisms of the Carmelites and Franciscans.

JCA offers students a variety of ministries and formative programs to enrich their faith and character development.

Liturgical Experiences• The Mary, Our Sister Chapel will

be dedicated during the fall of 2018. It will contain seating for 450 and will become the center of JCA’s spiritual community. The additional renovation of the Adoration Chapel will allow The Mary, Our Sister Chapel to host multiple functions including guest speakers, extra-curriculars, meetings, and more.

• Weekly Mass is offered after school in the chapel. All are welcome.

• The Mary, Our Sister Chapel and the Adoration Chapel are open throughout the day for private prayer and reflection.

• All-school Masses are once per month and/or on Holy Days of Obligation.

• The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered throughout the year and on retreats.

Christian Service JCA students complete a

minimum of 60 hours of Christian Service throughout their four-year careers, working both within the school and the Joliet community to directly impact the lives of others.

Retreats• Freshmen, sophomores, juniors,

and the JCA faculty and staff all participate together in an annual day of renewal.

• Kairos will be offered to students during their senior year.

The JCA family consists of nearly 700 current students, their parents and families, faculty and staff, and over 22,800 alumni, led by the Franciscan Sisters and Carmelite Priests.

Our most recent capital campaign, “Honoring our Past, Building our Future,” raised over $1.5 million, furnishing the school with new windows, updated Wi-Fi infrastructure, the creation of the beautiful new Heritage Quad, a renovated outdoor Prayer Garden, and the Mary, Our Sister Chapel. Heritage Quad brings the iconic “Victory Light” back to campus, and coupled with the new chapel provides areas for all within the JCA community to gather and celebrate our rich traditions.

The JCA community is equally excited about the upcoming Strategic Plan for 2018-2023: “Onward Together.” The addition of a $1.2 million dollar Innovation Resource Center will bring a state-of-the-art workspace for students in courses such as AP Computer Science, Engineering, and Graphic Design…work rarely seen outside of a university setting.

At Joliet Catholic Academy, we are committed to granting access to as many families as possible. In fact, no student at JCA pays 100% of the cost of education.

How do we do this? Four ways: first, through the JCA Endowment supported by our generous donor base on an annual level. Second, through merit-based scholarship for Top Entrance Exam Scorers and Leadership Awards in the JCA Heritage Award Program. Third, through other supporting activities and annual fundraisers such as Jubilate. And finally, through the landmark educational funding bill, the Invest in Kids Act. Families can apply through the scholarship granting organization (SGO) Empower Illinois in January of 2019 (exact date TBA). These tax credit funded scholarships range from 50%, 75%, and 100% of tuition to attend JCA.

Therefore, the cost of tuition has already been supplemented for every Joliet Catholic Academy student. Instead of passing on the full cost of education, families pay no more than 90% of the cost to educate. This commitment to providing an affordable education, that is accessible to ALL Will County-area families, is foundational to the mission of Joliet Catholic Academy.

As a result of this continued commitment, the leadership of JCA launched a new and exciting program in 2017 that is helping provide more access to a high-quality Catholic education to more families. This program is Leveraged Financial Aid. Leveraged Financial is just that…leveraged. We match your tuition rate to your family’s unique, financial position. JCA’s incoming freshman class of 2018 saw a 17% increase in students from the fall of 2017, thanks in large part to Leveraged Financial Aid. As this program grows, coupled with the expected growth of the Invest in Kids Act, current and future JCA families should expect to see a reversal of the downward enrollment trend at Catholic grade schools and high schools in the Will County area.

The tuition at Joliet Catholic Academy is not one-size-fits-all, it’s a range…a range that spans from about 25% to 90% of the full cost of this high-quality Catholic education. Families interested in Leveraged Financial Aid simply submit a financial profile to FACTS, a confidential, third-party online service (families that qualify for Empower Illinois Scholarships must submit a second, free application). Based on a recommendation to our administration, your leveraged financial aid is confirmed. It’s as easy as that.

Think you can’t afford a quality Catholic education? Think again. With Leveraged Financial Aid at Joliet Catholic Academy, an excellent Catholic education has never been more accessible. For more information, please visit our website at www.jca-online.org or call the Admissions Office to schedule a time to meet.

Ryan Quigley '03 Director of Admissions and Communications [email protected] / 815.741.0500 ext. 214

Joliet Catholic Academy is located on the west side of Joliet, near the communities of Shorewood, Plainfield and Minooka/Channahon. Because of the easy accessibility to Will, DuPage, Grundy and Kendall counties, JCA pulls students from a wide variety of neighboring towns.

As a result, JCA provides transportation options for students according to interest. The most common methods of commuting to JCA are buses and car pools. Many students ride one of three bus routes with round-trip service through Naperville, Plainfield, Shorewood, Bolingbrook, Romeoville and Joliet. Bus routes are determined annually based on ridership. For a School Bus Transportation Agreement, contact JCA’s Business Office.

A good number of JCA students also are a part of car pools or drive themselves to school each day. The JCA Admissions Office works with families to connect car pools and the JCA Administration contracts with First Student Bus Company to run three routes:

• Naperville/Plainfield route: Round-trip service for students with stops as far north as 75th Street traveling east and west of Route 59 to various subdivisions, south down Route 59 through Plainfield into Joliet.

• Bolingbrook/Romeoville route: Round-trip service for students with stops as far west as Naperville/Plainfield Road and as far north as Boughton Road before traveling south on Weber Road into Joliet.

• Shorewood/Joliet route: Round-trip service for students as far west as County Line Road and as far south as Interstate 80 through various subdivisions in Shorewood and Joliet.
