Let the countdown begin…..

Spring has finally arrived and the official camp countdown has begun. We are getting more andmore excited about the start of another camp season, we can’t believe it. This amazing dreamcalled Iroquois Springs started 6 years ago and it is really hard to believe how much we haveaccomplished in 6 short years. We are so proud of the amazing leadership team that has beenassembled and continues to make Iroquois Springs their home summer after summer. We areproud to boast one of the best camper retention rates in the industry. We smile when we see thefacility, which has been completely renovated over the past six years. What we are most proudof is the relationship that we have with each one of you, our camp families. We feel proud thatyou have let us be a part of your family throughout the entire year. Thank you!

The winter office is going at a fever pitch. We just returned from a three-day camping confer-ence where a lot of our staff took part in several of over 200 workshops about camp! Can youbelieve we spent three-days talking “camp?” It was great and we have tons of new ideas forthis summer. The week following the conference we convened our program committee and brain-stormed for hours on how we could continue to revamp our program to make sure it continuesto be fresh, challenging and exciting for everyone. We have some great new programs, and can’twait for you to experience it!

It is hard to believe that in just about 6 more weeks we will be moving up to Rock Hill againto begin another wonderful journey together. We thank you for being such a big part of whatwe do and making it so very special for us.

Can you believe that camp is only four months away? Well, we are getting closer and closerto the summer and that means that we are getting busier and busier at Iroquois Springs. Beingbusy is good because we have had the opportunity to create plenty of new and exciting activities.Our winter meetings have been a huge success and I can’t wait for the summer of 2006 to arrive.

I am looking forward to our opening night campfires and the beginning of another memorable summer. I have been in touch with Gazza, Jae andShane and they are also ready for another action packed experience. We have alreadybegun to plan “Big Brother Night”, Gold Rush and Auction, the 3 on 3-basketball tour-

nament, pool-parties, overnights and a ton of other exciting activities just for you. Our returning

counselors are so excited to see how much our returning campers have grown overthe winter as well as having the opportunity to meet a whole bunch of new campersthis year.

Before we know it we are going to be unpacking our duffle bags and meet-ing new friends. I cannot wait to share this upcoming summer with you and lookforward to the first day of camp.Josh

At the time of this writing March has just begun, which means that, Spring is around the cor-ner and we know what that means – camp is close and getting closer. My mind is beginning to shiftand think about new ideas for summer 2006. I surf the web looking for new activities and excitingthings to try when we are together again.

There is an excitement that starts to build as July starts to creep upon us. I thinkto myself about the campers and staff that I so look forward to seeing and I pictureyou all getting off the buses and running to each other with hugs and screams.

I am also looking forward to meeting all of our new campers in May at our New CamperOrientation and hope to answer questions and begin to explain what is ahead for all of you. We willhave an incredible time together so get ready. You are going to love it.

I guess once a camper, always a camper. It’s just something that’s in your blood and so onceagain I look forward to sharing those very special days and nights of another summer togetherI will see you very soon – I can’t wait! Dee

Boys Side Stuff

Can you believe it – Spring Time is here! What does that really mean for all of us? Well, I am

sure all of our campers are getting excited for the warmer weather, spring sports in school, the

ability to wear shorts everyday and more than anything, camp is starting to creep up for us

all. As for our huge number of returning staff , well in just a few short weeks, the spring semes-

ter will be coming to a close and camp will be what’s on their mind. Believe it or not, some of

our pre-camp staff will be arriving at camp in just 6-weeks to begin preparing for the opening

day of camp.

We are so excited to let you know that we have assembled a staff that we think is going to blow

you away! First, there will be a returning staff member in every bunk this summer as we have

over 55 counselors and 95% of our Leadership Team returning to Iroquois Springs. Next, we

have added some great staff that we know are going to wow you with some of their skills, fun

and excitement for the summer. To highlight just a few, we are thrilled that we have recruit-

ed a number of great college tennis players, male and female to join Evan this summer and pro-

vide our campers with instruction second to none. We have also been very lucky to find some

outstanding staff to teach lacrosse, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball and more. In addition,

we have added awesome counselors and specialists in so many areas of camp including Arts &

Crafts / Hobby Hill, Theater, Aquatics, HB Riding, Media and more……we are all in for another

great summer with terrific staff for 2006!

What I am looking forward to most, besides coming to work everyday in shorts, is getting to

camp and feeling the magic we all feel inside when we walk through the gates at Iroquois

Springs. I am thrilled that for the first time, I am going to spend the summer with my family

at camp (Avery tells me she can’t wait to ride on the golf-cart with her daddy) and they will be

able to experience the same great feeling we all do.

I know the summer of 2006 is going to be awesome – so remember to finish school strong, get

excited for camp and start thinking about all the great fun, memories and friendships we are

all going to share together this summer.

We are continuing to make a big push towards com-municating with our camp families electronically as muchas possible. What we typically do is continue to send tradi-

tional mailings to you, which include lots of forms and inserts,etc. With mailings of only one or two items, we will be sending

those to you via email.

We have already begun this process; so if you have not been getting our regular email updates, please contact the officeimmediately to make sure we have a current

email address on file for you.

Additionally, it is very important that ifyou have a “spam” filter or use AOL,

the internet. Sites like “MySpace,” “Facebook” and

“Friendster” are open for anyone and everyone to see.

This means that anything you post or any comments you

Cup Stacking – Check out www.speedstacks.comThis is so much fun. In just 5 minutes we learned how todo it and we can’t wait to see who at camp will have the

fastest time. We hear that ESPN is planning on coveringthe International Speed Stacking event some time soon.

Trangleball - Check out www.trangleball.comWe had some much fun with this new game at the con-

ference, we just had to buy it. This new activity will be agreat compliment to our new Ga-Ga courts.
