The drive unit is mounted behind the rear wall of the isolator with only the vessel within the isolator.

The NIR components do not rotate with the load but are located and protected within the blender frame.

The MB range of tumble blenders provide a gentle, low shear action. The mixing efficiency within an AgiBlend container is increased by the use of rotating agitator bars.

Large Scale Trial & Production Scale Machines

MB400®The MultiBlend MB400 is one of a range of blenders that has been

designed and developed, by Pharmatech, primarily as a drum

blender to handle standard 200 litre drums. The MB400 is suitable for

use in both development laboratories and in production areas and will

handle all standard blending vessels.

MB800®The Pharmatech MultiBlend MB800A is designed for small to

medium scale manufacturing. The MB800A is able to handle any

shape container and is simple to change from size to size.

MB1200®The Pharmatech MultiBlend MB1200A is designed for small to

medium scale manufacturing. It can handle up to approximately 750L

(depending upon gross load). The MB1200A is able to handle any

shape container and is simple to change from size to size.

MB2000®The Pharmatech MultiBlend MB2000A is designed for manufacturing

scale use. It can handle up to approximately 500kg (depending upon

gross load). The MB2000A is able to handle any shape container and

is simple to change from size to size.

Controls

All Multiblend Drive units have a common control system based on the Proface 5.7” colour touch sensitive HMI. This allows the operator to pre-programme speeds and times.

During blending the actual speed is displayed and also the time remaining.

The system continually checks the state of the hardware and warns the operator of any malfunctions. A message bar along the bottom of the screen prompts the user on what needs to be done next or in the event of a stoppage why the stoppage has occurred.

Pop up messages requiring immediate action are also displayed.

A key switch allows isolation of the machine to prevent unauthorised use.

A thermal printer using 25 year life paper is available on most machines.

More complex control systems incorporating multiuser log in at four different levels. 25 preset recipes and ethernet communication with other systems available if required.

Container Shapes® All MultiBlend blenders incorporate the Quick-Change facility

allowing blending containers to be quickly removed and replaced

with another without the use of tools. All standard blending vessels

shapes are available:

• drums (barrels)

• Ibcs (bins or totes)

• V-shells (Vee cones, Y-cones, twin shells)

• DoubleCone

• Special shapes

• cGMP crevice free design

Each drive unit has a maximum container size it can handle. See machine

descriptions for details of maximum sizes.

Smaller containers can be handled on larger machines using drive adapters.

Blending vessels for the machines are available in the following sizes in all
