Principal’s Report continued…… Helpers Thank-you Breakfast Invitation Wednesday 3rd December Throughout the year we are very fortunate to have so many wonderful ‘Helpers’ who contribute to Kennington
Primary School. Each year we have had a ‘Helpers’ Morning Tea’. This year we are changing to having a ‘Helper’s Breakfast’. We hope this means that more of our valued helpers are able to attend. All ‘Helpers’ are invited to a breakfast provided by staff to say thank-you on Wednesday 3
rd December at 8.00am in the staffroom.
We hope to see you there. Morning Club is on at the same time for students in the stadium. Grade 6 Awards Night The Grade 6 Awards Night is on Tuesday 9
th December.
This is a very special night for our Grade 6 students where they have the opportunity to share dinner together. After dinner, parents join us for a number of presentations. We look forward to the evening being a celebration of the completion of primary school for our Grade 6 students. The Awards Night will be held at the Baptist Church in Junortoun. Students are required to wear school uniform to the dinner and presentation on Awards Night. Note: Guest tickets to be purchased from the office. $4.00 per ticket Please purchase your tickets early to avoid disappointment. th December. All grade levels
will be performing a carol. Our school singing choir and our school signing choir will perform. The Bendigo and District Concert Band will also be playing. Each year it has been an enjoyable community evening, and it would be terrific to see a large representation from our school community in attendance. Families are welcome to arrive from 6:30pm to share a picnic tea on the artificial grass area. The carols will start at 7:30pm. More information about the planning will follow but please diary this event now. Pre-loved Uniforms We often have need for second hand items of school uniform. If you are going through your cupboards and have some used items that are in good condition, they can be donated to the school through the office. th, John Evans, from the ‘Don’t

This workshop and performance supported our Fairy Tale Theme Once Upon a Time. Some of the students’ puppets can be seen on John’s website www.dontmove.com.au Child’s voice… Yesterday was the best puppet man show I’ve ever been to. The man who organised it is John. At the performance, one puppet’s name was Poopy Doo. Everybody laughed. Abbey R 1B

The teams won through to the grand final where scores were tied after the doubles matches and a sudden-death mixed doubles match was played in which Kennington won. An outstanding performance, Abbey K, Tari S, Angus R and Josh H also represented the school exceptionally well. Thank you to the parents who assisted in scoring and umpiring the matches for the day. Interschool Sports The grade 6 students have been involved in an inter-school sporting competition with Quarry Hill Primary School, Epsom Primary School, Strathfieldsaye Pimary School and Spring Gully Primary School on Friday afternoons. This term the students have participated in games of handball and cricket. It has been an excellent opportunity for students to meet and mix with students who they are possibly going to secondary school with next year.

Hi my name is Jacob and I am in 6A.
As part of my Grade 6 Genius Hour project, I am running an animal food drive.
My aim is to make people aware that the RSPCA houses lost, abandoned and sick animals and is constantly requiring food to feed them.
If you have any unopened cat, dog or rabbit food, please send it to school with your child and ask them to place it in the tub in the office foyer.
All donations will be delivered to the RSPCA in December.
Thank you very much for your help.
