INTRODUCTION Infosys Limited was started in 1981 by seven people
with US$ 250. Today, its a global leader for "next generation" of IT and consulting with revenues of US$ 6.604 billion .
Infosys defines, designs and delivers technology-enabled business solutions for Global 2000 companies.
It has a global footprint with 64 offices and 65 development centres in US, India, China, Australia, Japan, Middle East, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, Canada and many other countries.

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION
It recruits Graduates /Post- Graduates with backgrounds in Engineering, Science and Management.
Following are the channels of recruitment: - Campus Placement Processes at premier Institutions &

TESTING PROCESS As part of the recruitment process, every short
listed candidate has to undergo the Infosys testing process. Infosys conduct a logical thinking test comprising analytical thinking, arithmetic reasoning, and/or written communication skills.
All candidates with software experience up to 3 years need to undergo these tests. Candidates in the 3 to 5 year category may have to undergo the test, based on recommendation by the interview panel.

INDUCTION Two day programme which is conducted for the
campus recruits and candidates who join Infosys at the entry level.
The trainees are also given a briefing on their career plan and growth in the organization.
Conducted at the Organisation level, across Development Centres in India.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Infosys has an in-house Education and Research
department. New incumbents at entry level are taken through a
well-structured training/internship programme.Training – 6 monthsInternship – 4 to 5 months Leadership Journey Series. Online training portal ILITE+ (Infosys Learning and
Training Enabler) on their Intranet “Sparsh”. Various training modules .

National Skills Registry Policy (NSR)
Aims to build a robust and credible information repository on the knowledge professionals.
Register employees on a web-enabled database.
Database is managed and run by NDML. Provide identity security for the organisation
and its clients. Uniquely identify each employee. Eliminate issues of potential frauds.

WORKING HOURS FULL WORKING DAY (FWD):
9 hours and 15 minutes (including lunch time of 30 minutes).
MAXIMUM WORKING HOURSMaximum of 11 hours 15 minutes per day (including lunch time and on-duty) for a maximum of 5 days in a calendar month.
LEAVE DEDUCTION Employee must work for at least 3 hours and 30
minutes on a working day, or apply for leave.

PART TIME WORKING HOURS Covers all confirmed employees up to
personal level 7. Cannot be availed for educational
reasons. In case of parenthood, can be availed
only when child is less than 10 years of age

EXTENDED LEAVE POLICY
Maximum one year on loss of pay. Must have served for at least 2 years. Benefit extended only once in 5 years.DURING EXTENDED LEAVE POLICY Would not be eligible for promotion during that period. Company’s contribution towards the Employees PFT and
Superannuation Trust made as per the respective Acts and based on paid leave or leave without pay.
Disbursement of fresh loans discontinued. Repayment towards any outstanding loans must be made in
advance.

MATERNITY LEAVE POLICY
ELIGIBILITY: On the rolls of Company for at least 80 calendar
days, excluding days on leave on loss of pay. LEAVE ENTITTLEMENT:12 continuous weeks of paid Maternity Leave6 weeks prior to expected date and 6 weeks after
delivery EXTENSION:By one month (beyond 12 weeks) if suffering from
illness

INFOSYS TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED PROVIDENT FUND TRUST
Infosys set up Infosys Technologies Limited Employees’ Provident Fund Trust in 1996 to serve its employees.
•12% of the Basic + DA•8.33% of earned Basic + DA or 8.33% of 6,500 whichever is lower.
Advantages of Provident Fund trust are better fund management and faster settlement of provident funds dues.
Interest is paid at 8.50% P.A.
Voluntary Provident Fund can be contributed up to a maximum of 12% of Basic + DA.
EMPLOYEES’ GRATUITY FUND TRUST
Infosys has a self managed, Employees’ Gratuity Fund Trust since 1995 with a view to serve its employees’ better and faster.
Gratuity claims of eligible employees will be settled within 45 days from the date of Resignation.
INFOSYS LOAN FACILITY
All offshore based employees in Personal Level 6 and below, excluding trainees in Personal Sub Level 3T are eligible for Soft Loans. A guarantor is required for the loan of the same or above level from Infosys.
No fresh loan can be availed when a similar loan is outstanding.
Very low simple interest is charged which is deducted from the salary.
Disciplinary action is taken on failure of repayment of installments for more then 3 months..
NIGHT SHIFT ALLOWANCE
Applicable to employees in Customer Delivery, Finacle and specific Business Enabling Functions (viz. Computers & Communications Division and Security) during the night shifts. Night shift timings are categorized into 2 shifts as follows:-
Shift 1: Any shift starting on or before 6 a.m. or ending on or after 11 p.m. in a given date. Shift 2: Any shift falling between 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and employee working for at least 4 hours during this time.
An employee is entitled for an allowance of Rs. 250/- or Rs. 400/- per night for Shift 1 and Shift 2 respectively.

HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY
Group Health Insurance Scheme (FY 2011 - 2012):
Standard Plan : Provides employees and their family including spouse and two
children up to the age of 22 years with a medical cover of Rs. 2,50,000 per annum.
Gold Plan & Silver Plan : This Scheme helps you to enhance the coverage with various other
participatory optional health insurance plans by making a payment towards the subsidized premium for which you can claim tax rebates.

Group Life Insurance Scheme:
All employees are covered under the Group Life Insurance Scheme, managed by Infosys Welfare Trust
Provides a total life insurance cover of Rs. 40,00,000 of which Rs. 25,00,000 is covered towards natural death, and additional Rs. 15,00,000 towards an accidental death.
All Infoscion become member of Infosys Welfare Trust, by one-time payment of Rs. 250 and fixed monthly contribution of Rs. 150.
