Final decisions pur- suant to negotiations are expected to be taken soon.’’ The government said requests have been received from authorities con- cerned in several countries including the US, France, Germany among oth- ers requesting that their air carriers be allowed to participate in the trans- portation of passengers along the line being conducted by Air India under Vande Bharat Mission. These requests are being examined, the ministry said. ‘’We have also had one round of ne- gotiations with US on June 15 with rep- resentatives of US Department of Transportation and US Embassy on this issue. They were invited to submit precise proposals in this respect. A communication has now been re- ceived on June 19 detailing these re- quests,’’ it said. As India moves from controlled and managed aviation evacuation of its cit- izens in different parts of the world and foreign nationals from India, the gov- ernment was now looking at the possi- bility of establishing bilateral arrange- ments, according to the statement. ‘’These evacuation flights which were primarily meant for evacuation of our citizens from all over the world are now increasingly carrying Indians and citizens of other countries out bound to countries where they are normally resident,’’ it added. The recovery rate is rising and now stands at around 56 per cent as about 11,000 patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The World Health Organization has warned that the pandemic was accelerating as economies reopen. On May 31, two officials of Pak- istan High Commission were caught red-handed and expelled in espi- onage case. ‘While their officials indulged in actions that are not in conformity with their privileged status in the High Commission, Pakistan has in parallel engaged in a sustained cam- paign to intimidate the officials of the Indian High Commission in Is- lamabad from carrying on their legit- imate diplomatic functions,’ it added. The Ministry also said that the re- cent abduction at gunpoint of two Indian officials and their severe ill- treatment underlines the extent to which Pakistan has gone in that di- rection. These officials, who have re- turned to India on June 22, have pro- vided graphic details of the barbaric treatment that they experienced at the hands of Pakistani agencies. The behaviour of Pakistan and its officials is not in conformity with the Vienna Convention and bilateral agreements on the treatment of diplomatic and consular officials. On the contrary, it is an intrinsic ele- ment of a larger policy of supporting cross-border violence and terrorism, it said. The undeniable fact is that since April-May, 2020 till date, Chinese troops have committed brazen transgressions into our territory in Pan- gong Tso Lake area and the Galwan Val- ley, Ladakh. True to its character, the government is in denial. The intrusion was detected and re- ported on May 5, 2020. Instead of a res- olution, the situation deteriorated rapidly and there were violent clashes on June 15-16. Twenty Indian soldiers were martyred, 85 injured and 10 went ‘missing’ until they were returned. The Prime Minister was called out when he announced that “no one had intruded into Indian territory in Ladakh”,’Mrs. Gandhi said. Eight people from the same family have been found infected in Lambakheda. These include an 8- year-old girl. The number of patients in Bhopal has now increased to 2534. So far 88 people from Corona have been confirmed dead in the district. At the same time, on Tuesday, 26 pa- tients returned home after beating the corona infection. To defuse tension at Line of Actu- al Control (LAC), the Corps Com- mander level talks between India and China were held at Moldo in a cordial, positive and constructive at- mosphere on June 22, the sources added. There was a mutual consensus to disengage from all friction areas in Eastern Ladakh and the modalities for the same were discussed. It will be taken forward by both the sides, they said. The military level talks between India and China at the Corps Com- mander-level ended on Monday, af- ter almost 11 hours of marathon meeting, to resolve the border stand- off in Eastern Ladakh. The meeting began at 1130 hrs and ended at 2230 hrs. “There would be gradual de-esca- lation that would take place. The forces will move back a particular distance in all areas of friction. This would be different for each loca- tion,” a source said. During the meeting, India has al- so raised the issue of the violent face- offs in the Galwan Valley on June 15 that led to killing of 20 Indian sol- diers and injuries to several others. Steps will be taken by both sides to ensure such an incident is not re- peated. From Indian side, Leh-based 14 Corps Commander Lieutenant General Harinder Singh attended the meet, while South Xinjiang Military District Commander Major General Lin Liu represented the Chinese side. The meeting was held at Moldo Bor- der Personnel Meeting point on the Chinese side of the LAC. This was the second meet at Lt Gen-level since border tensions erupted in May. To defuse tension at Line of Actu-al Control (LAC), the Corps Com-mander level talks between Indiaand China were held at Moldo in acordial, positive and constructive at-mosphere on June 22, the sourcesadded.

There was a mutual consensus todisengage from all friction areas inEastern Ladakh and the modalitiesfor the same were discussed. It willbe taken forward by both the sides,they said.

The military level talks betweenIndia and China at the Corps Com-mander-level ended on Monday, af-ter almost 11 hours of marathonmeeting, to resolve the border stand-off in Eastern Ladakh.

The meeting began at 1130 hrsand ended at 2230 hrs.

“There would be gradual de-esca-lation that would take place. Theforces will move back a particular

distance in all areas of friction. Thiswould be different for each loca-tion,” a source said.

During the meeting, India has al-so raised the issue of the violent face-offs in the Galwan Valley on June 15that led to killing of 20 Indian sol-diers and injuries to several others.Steps will be taken by both sides toensure such an incident is not re-peated. This was the second meet at LtGen-level since border tensionserupted in May. The last meeting washeld on June 6 at the same meetingpoint.

grand Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath organised withoutparticipation of public and devotees, reached theGundicha temple, the final destination without any unto-ward incident.

Crores of devotees across the country and abroad wit-nessed the festival proceedings in live telecasts.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also watched the festi-val telecast live on television sitting at his home inNaveen Nivas.

“Haribol and Jai Jagannath rented the air as the threechariots carrying the presiding deities of the Sri Jagan-nath temple, rolled down on the three km long GrandRoad from Lions gate to Sri Gundicha temple, one afteranother pulled by hundreds of servitors who have testedCovid negative.

The Supreme court had allowed the Puri Rath Yatraand directed that about 500 servitors who have testedCovid negative will pull each of the three chariots.

The festival was organised adhering strictly to theCovid 19 guidelines and the servitors were seen pullingthe chariots using masks and maintaining the social dis-tancing.

First the Taladhwaja chariot carrying Lord Balavadrareached the Gundich temple followed by Darpadalan ofdevi Subhadra and lastly the Nandighosh chariot of LordJagannath reached the destination at 1710 hours.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik released the Rathyatraissue of Utkal Prasanga and Odisha review at Lok SevaBhawan when the chariot of Lord Balavadra rolled out onthe Badadanda.

The Chief minister thanked the servitors, the districtadministration, the temple administration, the Healthdepartment and the police administration besides theresidents of Puri for the successful and peaceful Rath Ya-tra of the Lords.

Earlier, on Monday night Daita servitors prepared thedeities for pahandi by fashioning Chhenapatta lagi (bodyarmour) to all three deities to bear the stress in Pahandi.
