Incube Drama team of 11 students from various departments of our college participated and won runner up title in ABHINAYA drama Competition held at ADA Rangamandira

Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students, creative room to express what they feel. The length and breadth of knowledge what they gain through this is unparalleled. For this very reason, the debate club of AMC Engineering College organized a debate, posing the question, “President Donald Trump is good or bad for India?" on 18th Feb, 2017. The debate competition was judged by Prof.Mrinalini, AP, ECE Dept, Prof Shivani Shah, AP, MBA Dept, & Prof Lovely sasidharan, AP, MCA Dept. They used various skills like overstatement, definition, irony etc., to uphold their point of views.

AMC QUIZ club conducted a General Quiz competition on February 23, 2017. Around 55 students were enrolled for this quiz. 3 students who were qualified were sent to VTU fest YUVAKALANJALI 2017 held at Sir MVIT, Bangalore

Women’s Day was organised on 8th March 2017, a fun-filled day celebrated in our college where teachers played the role of fashion stars, showcased their dancing talent. The day began with felicitation of Dr. A. Ramachandra Former Professor & Dean, ME, and Dr. Vijayalakshmi Former Principal, CITY College, Jayanagar, on the occasion of retirement from the service. The event was followed by a cultural extravaganza. The teachers from all the departments and City College, Jayanagar entertained the colleagues with dance, skit, songs, etc.

MELANGE 2K17, organised by the Dept of Mechanical Engg on 11th and 12th may 2017 with a whopping 45 events on its list, it is based on a unique theme called “UNWHEEL” the culture. The fest was inaugurated by well-known cine celebrities Mr.Vasista Simha, Mr. Madan Ram venkatesh and Ms. Anu Poovamma along with principal Dr.T.N.Sreenivasa .This occasion was graced by the vintage actor Sarigama viji , Director Sai Prakash , theatre artist and national award winner Mr.Sanchari Vijay, famous Artist Badal Nanjundswamy and movie teams of BB5,Dayavittu Gamanisi, Ayana .AMC family is taking good initiative to bring back the old Indian culture some of them being respecting our elders, teachers, respecting our ownself , respecting the vedic subjects, customs and the practices. The fun filled fest is for the two days filled with enthusiastic and innovative 45 events like vikujitha meaning solo singing, geethayana vrajya, (group singing), laasya vrunda, shrungara parva, damara vrunda, kala kritha .AllOk and team performed Kannada Rapconcert glittering the evening to an end. The mega event was concluded by DJ Night. Overall the fest had 555 participants, with 100 participants from various colleges.

Melange 2K17 –INTERCOLLEGE FEST on 11,12th May 2017

“Guru Devo Bhava” meaning a teacher is like God. Gods also need a day to let their hair loose and unbutton their collar. Teachers day and Engineers day was celebrated on September 15th 2017, a fun-filled day celebrated in our college where teachers from all our group institution showcased their dancing talent and participated in various events like fashion show, yoga demonstration, solo singing . This event was inaugurated by chief guest Dr B Gayathri Devi, Little Flower Public school, Bangalore. The event was followed by a cultural extravaganza. Best teachers from AMC-City Group institutions were awarded as best teacher on that day. This day gave a reason for all our teaching fraternity to enjoy and build cherishable memories for their life time. It also made them feel more responsible towards their sacred profession. As they say, 'All is well, that ends well', the celebration ended with a broad smile and great bundle of joy.

The Ethnic Day was the next big cultural event in our college. The students eagerly looked forward to this day. It was held on the 28th of September 2017. It was a very colourful day with the students and faculties dazzling in their ethnic wear. It was a day filled with fun filled games , selfies and photo sessions! Ethnic day was truly celebrated in its spirit.

Phaniraj VII sem ECE student won First place in the Poetry Competition at Bengaluru medical college fest “Cobalt Skies”2017 on 14th October 2017 , Bangalore

On the 3rd of November, all roads led to AMCEC. The excitement among the students was palpable. Why you ask? Because it was time for ‘COLOSSEUM 2K17!’ But this year was a little different. We had the fresher’s day for the new incoming batch of students and the ‘Mech Mela’ which was an entrepreneurship initiative by the mechanical department to go along with Colosseum. All these promised us a day of fun and laughter. The day began on a very auspicious note with the invocation of god’s blessing followed by the official inauguration of the fest by our principal Dr. T. N. Sreenivasa. Our Guest Sindhu Loknath-Sandalwood actress joined us for evening events and graced the occasion.

Now that the formalities were completed, it was time to hit the stage. First up on stage were the

Mr. and Ms. Fresher contest finals where 14 finalists were shortlisted from a talented group of 30

students through auditions. Shreyas and Sahana emerged as the deserved winners and Prinston

and Spurthi as runners.

Next event on stage was the solo singing event where enthusiastic participants sang to their heart’s

content in the bid to win a prize. Then came the dance event! Egged on by the crowd, the dancers

gave their best shot and it turned out to be pure entertainment. As far as the offstage events were

concerned, quiz, creative writing, rangoli competition and painting events catalysed in bringing

the best out of our talented students. Avid gamers were given a chance to prove their mettle with

the gaming events. But as always, the best was saved for the last. The fashion show! Two very well-

choreographed teams going up against each other was a real treat! The perfect icing on the cake

was the DJ night! The students danced like there’s no one watching and brought down the curtains

on a very successful Colosseum 2K17

Mech Mela 2.0 was an entrepreneurship program conducted by the mechanical students on the 3rd of November 2017. Five distinct stalls, headed by seven coordinators, were conducted, namely photography, gaming, handicrafts, tattoo making and food stalls.

This program was initiated under the guidance of faculty to imbibe entrepreneurial and managerial skills among the students. The entire set up was built using scrap and other useless materials in the college campus.

The skill of initiating, implementing, managing and entrepreneurship, which was the sole purpose of Mech Mela, was successfully achieved by the students.

An overview of Mech Mela

Although academics are important, it doesn’t hurt once in a while to go out and have fun and

discover new things and learn outside the classroom. These cultural events gave us the opportunities to exactly do so. A big thank you has to be said to all the faculty and other silent heroes who cooperated and helped us in realising our hidden talents. At the end of the day we do believe that ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’.
