sletter of our college. This newsletter will act as a platform to exhibit the contributions

of our staff and students in science, engineering, technology and

innovation.

Let’s give our best and together we make this institution a mode-

JYOTHIRGAMAYA-2018

The orientation programme for the students of

2018 batch was inaugurated at MIT auditorium

on 23rd July 2018. The program started with the

prayer followed by the welcome speech by Prof.

Kunhiraman P.V.,HoD,ASH. The occasion was

graced with the wonderful speech delivered by

Prof.Madhavan Nambiar,Dean of MIT.

The guest speaker Ms.Anagha R. Reg.no.

B3ENEE650,First Rank holder, EEE depart-

ment (Batch 2013-2017), delivered inspiring

speeches. It was followed by the presidential

address of Dr.A.Benham, Principal,MIT. For-

mer students who achieved excellence in their

academics were honoured. The programme

was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr.Fa-

ris, College students Union chairman.

GRATITUDE

MIT bid farewell to Prof. Jacob

Zachariah, of ECE department, who has

been closely involved in the academic

development of the Institution for the last

6 years.

His colleagues placed on records his

valuable all round contributions in

curricular, co- curricular and extra

curricular fields. MIT takes this

opportunity to thank Jacob sir for all his

wonderful support and contributions as

an HoD. A big farewell to our beloved

sir who left the college recently.

PRAYAANA CAMPUS

AMBASSADOR HUNT-2018

Ms.Vyshnavi V.P. and Ms.Shikha Sudharman Third year stu-

dents of ECE Department of MIT actively participated in a

two days Prayaana Fellowship workshop (Entrepreneurship

and Innovation Ecosystem exclusively for Girls) at Muthoot

Institute of Technology and Science, Kochi on 11th and 12th

August 2018. They were selected as Prayaana Campus Amba-

ssadors of MIT.

This hub will support the

womens of our campus

by helping them to set

CHAMPIONS

Mr. Jeevesh P., HoD of Civil Engineering Department and

Mr.Rahul S.R., Asst.Prof. of Mechanical Engineering Depart-

ment achieved the prestigious prize in the Inter College Teachers

Badminton Tournament held at Sahradaya Engineering Colle-

ge,Thrissur on 25th July 2018.

This gave inspirations for the students to participate in sports.

Our management, staff and students congratulated them for

their excellent performance.

NSS CAMP - 'UNARV'

NSS unit of MIT attended the 7day camp named

'unarv' at pothuvachery central up school from

21st to 27th august.The active partcipation by

our NSS volunteers was lead by programme

officers and secretaries.

Mr. K .Rahoof (ward member,pothuvachery)

has inaugrated the camp. Ms.Alisha P,

programme officer of NSS delievered the

welcome speech. Our principal delivered presid-

ential address and vote of thanks was given by

pallavi TK (NSS volunteer secrotory).

The camp focused on following projects:

• Road construction

• Seminar

• Self awareness class

• Social service

• Gardening

The camp was blessed with many informative

and interesting sessions including career

Guidence class held by Mr.Rijin

I.K(HoD,CSE),NSS oreantation class by Mr.

Yadhu M Nayar,motivation class etc. Ms. Ajitha

S(NSS state programe coordinator),Dr.kP.

Indhiradevi(Director ,technical cell),our

principal,Dean and other faculties visited the

camp and appreciated the volunteers for making

this camp a grand success.

Closing ceremony was inaugrated by Mrs .

Saumini K - vice president of pothuvachery

panchayat followed by a presidential address

by our Dean Mr. Madhavan Nambiar & vote

of thanks was given by Sampreeth Sunil (NSS

volunteer secretory).

The camp was suspended with great regards &

very good comments from the school

authorities and neighbours.

CHARITY

As a token of love, charity fund

was given to Mr.Ashfad , who is

paralised and also from a poor

financial background.The fund

was handed over by NSS unitofficers Asst.prof. Rajil.P and

Asst.Prof.Aleesha.P along with the NSS volunteers. Let us pray

for his speedy recovery..........

INDEPENDENCE DAY

CELEBRATION

72nd Independence Day of our country was

celebrated at the MIT campus on the same

day. The welcome speech was delivered by

Ms. Aleesha.P AP/Civil Engineering

Department followed by NSS prayer. Our

college Principal

hosted the flag

and addressed

the gathering.

The occasion

was blessed with

the presence of

our

Administrative Officer Mr.K.K.Gireeshan.

The NSS volunteers, secretaries and

students also gathered for the auspicious

occassion.

WITH YOU KERALA!!!

Through the Janamaithr Police our staff

members hand over different household items

worth Rs.30000 to the flood relief camp.

We have cancelled our Onam celebrations

for this year

and transfered

those funds to

our brothers

and sisters who

were affected

badly by the

flood. About

110 kits inclu-

ding all necessary items for a total amount of

50,000 were distributed in the Wayanad

area.

With the Cooperation of students and staff,

we were able to collect a reasonable amount

of sanitary napkins and this was handed over

to the rescue camp by our NSS volunteers.

ICE –FEST –NORWAY

Ice Music Festival (initiated 20-

06 in Geilo, Norway) is a "gla-

cial instrument" festival foun-

ded by Terje Isungset together

together with Pål Knutsson Medhus. Isungset had the idea behind the

festival and remains the creative

director. Today, the festival is

run by a board of volunteers in

cooperation with Visit Geilo.

The festival is unique because

everything, including the venue,

instruments, and art, is

made of ice and snow. It

takes place on every first

full moon of the year in

Geilo, Norway. Around 30

volunteers and students

work alongside ice carvers,

designers, ice cutters,

architects and artists for 10

days leading up to the

festival to make adequate

preparations.

FAKE PEOPLE

Building a fake image is just like building a house of

deck of cards . The irony being that while doing so

you don’t have the permission to even SNEEZE.

Knowing this , some are real good at being fake .

figuring them out is a bit difficult task. If you

happen to observe such , don’t hold on with them.

Just apply the ELIMINATION rule . Because they

are just like clouds , when they disappear , the day

is much BRIGHTER and eventually does life.
