3 Sleep ModeNew feature for handling problems in Sleep mode

If an error occurs during the attempt to activate the Sleep Mode, the system tries three times to remedythe problem by a re-start. If the error persists, the device tries to go into Sleep mode in an emptyconfiguration. If this succeeds, an entry is written to a log file in the root directory of the internal drive orremovable disk. The Status-LED flashes red during the Suspend operation.

1 Hardware

1.1 CRONOScompact

The device software supports all model varieties of CRONOScompact.

CRONOScompact uses short variants of the amplifiers and thus achieves shorter dimension for thehousing. The measurement properties of the signal conditioning channels remain unchanged.

CRONOScompact400: CRONOScompact400 supplements the CRONOS-PL and SL device family withits maximum aggregate sampling rate of 400KSamples.

CRONOScompact2000: CRONOScompact 2000 provides an aggregate sampling rate of 2000KSamples total, which can be achieved in conjunction with imc CRONOSflex-modules.

1.2 CRONOSflex

The device software supports all model varieties of CRONOSflex to connect CRONOSflex modules(amplifiers).

CRFX-400: Base-Unit with max. 400 kSps

CRFX-2000: Base-Unit with max, 2000 kSps

1.3 OSC-16

Supports suppy-modules for sensor supply.

1.4 BR2-4

The bridge amplifier BR2-4 for imc CRONOScompact supports sensor information (TEDS)

A hardware modification is needed for earlier delivered amplifiers.

1.5 CRONOSflex-modules

The device software supports CRONOSflex signal conditioner modules.

The measurement engineering properties of the CRONOSflex-modules remain unchanged from those ofthe signal conditioning modules of CRONOS-PL/SL/compact.

1.6 imcECAT-IF

An imc device equipped with the module "imcECAT-IF" can be connected to an EtherCAT bus as anEtherCAT-Slave device.

Such an EtherCAT-Bus is generally operated by an outside EtherCAT master (e.g. "TwinCAT" by thecompany Beckhoff) together with other EtherCAT modules.

Via imcECAT-IF it is possible to query or set current measurement values (e.g. process vector variables)from the device.

Which values are available depends on the device's current (measurement) configuration and can bequeried via "CoE" (CANopen over EtherCAT) by the EtherCAT-Master. For this purpose, a CoE-Server isprovided on the imcECAT-IF.

The device's configuration is accomplished with the help device SW "imc Devices" via the EtherNetinterface (not via imcECAT-IF).

1.8 Application module

The device software supports an application module based on the MFB modules.

The following imcResourcen are supported:(Output: Direction Application -> Device, Input device -> Application)

o Channels (output in FIFOs, input as samples of the PVVariable)



o Communication interfaces:

Serial interfaces (EIA232)

TCPIP (UDP, TCP)

Assistant for loading and configuration of an application to the application module.

o Supports "Tunable Parameters".

The following constraints apply:

o No threads or tasks are supported.

o Time events are not generated by hardware events (i.e., they are generated by time stampcomparisons)

2 Device time and synchronizationThe functions desctibed here only pertain to the following devices:

2.1 Time zones and switch between daylight saving and standard time

The device software is now able to take into account the transitions from between daylight saving andstandard time as well as time zones.

The settings are made in the device configuration ("Devices" menu / "Properties...", section "Device time,Synchronization"): "Time zone" and "Daylight saving time".

Measurement data files receive an entry for the time zone and are only supported by the Curve Managerinstalled as part of FAMOS as of Version 6.0Rev8.

2.2 NTP synchronization

Only for devices with serial number SN13xxxx and 14xxxx

The device software supports synchronization with the Network Time Protocol, which is transmitted viathe Ethernet connection.

Settings are made in the device configuration ("Device" menu/ "Properties...", section "Device time,Synchronization"): "NTP-Server" (IP or URL); "maximum time deviation".



2.3 IRIG B002 synchronisation

Only for devices with serial number SN13xxxx and 14xxxx

At the device's "Sync" input, an "IRIG-B" signal can be applied. However, "DCF" must be set as thesynchronization signal!

The varieties IRIG-B000, -B001, -B002 and -003 can be connected as the input signal. However, themeasurement device exclusively evaluates the BCD information! Output by IRIG B002 as the Master isnot possible!

3 Firmware updatingFor the firmware updating, an enabling code for the version "imc Devices V2.7" is required.

Signal conditioner won't be updated anymore, if their firmware has not been changed.

4 Connection to the deviceIf the PC's network interface is configured for "Obtain IP address automatically" (e.g. DHCP), then thereare problems with point-to-point connected, it the network connection is disconnected and thenreconnected (e.g. restart of the device interface during the firmware update).

In such a case, the re-established connection of the device is delayed until reactivation of the PC networkinterface has been completely concluded (with a permanently valid IP-address).

5 Data storage

5.1 Saving the measured data to the device hard drive

Saving of the measured data to the device hard drive can be controlled by command. Upon command,the current folder can be closed – and recording to the device hard drive stopped. With anothercommand, recording resumes at the current FIFO position.

At this time, this function is only used by imcStudio!

5.2 Saving the measured data to the PC-HD

Storage of measured data in extra channel folders on the PC's hard drive is no longer supported.

6 Curve managerNew curve manager version 6.1 Rev 21.

7 Online FAMOS

7.1 New functions

Following new functions have been implemented:

IntervalMult() in group 'Interval functions'.

OtrFrequLine2() and OtrFrequLine3() in group 'Rotating Machine Analysis'.

OtrSynthSin() as internal function.



8 Process Vector VariablesPVVs are now updated already following the preparation process (previously, only after the first start).

9 CAN Interface

9.1 Options dialog

New options in CAN Bus Assistant option dialog at Extra\Options

9.1.1 A2L-import for CCP-protocolMeasurement-vectors with ARRAY_SIZE > 0 are displayed as single vector elements (measurementchannels) at the ECU channel selection dialog when using option „Replace measurement vectors ofARRAY_SIZE > 0 with measurement vector elements“.

9.1.2 DBC-importMessages of marked device names for send devices will be read as Send messages. Therefore a newoption has been implemented: "Import the specif ied devices as CAN-senders, f ilter for device name"

9.2 J1939 DM Messages

DM-services for J1939 can be set.

10 Channel adjustment with Autostart/DiskstartAn Autostart/Diskstart can be prepared in such a way that prior to starting an automatic adjustment ofselected channels is performed.
