Different type of chemical reaction

• Combustions • Synthesis• Decomposition• Single displacement• Double displacement • Acid base

The fire triangle

• Is a simple model for understanding the ingredients necessary for most fires.

Activation energy

• is a term introduced in 1889 by the Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius, that is defined as the energy that must be overcome in order for a chemical reaction to occur.

Heat energy

• Its important because its raises the material of to its ignition temperature without sufficient energy.

Cooktop stove

• When the gas from gas tank comes out to the outside of the cook top then it connects energy to make a fire.

Combustion engine

• Is an engine in which the combustion of a fuel (generally, fossil fuel) occurs with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber

Page 8: Ils2

Combustion engine works• The principle behind

any reciprocating internal combustion engine: If you put a tiny amount of high-energy fuel (like gasoline) in a small, enclosed space and ignite it, an incredible amount of energy is released in the form of expanding gas. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/engine1.htm

Nascar car• Dodge provides the engine

block and cylinder head for the engine. They are based on a 340 cubic inch V-8 engine design that was produced in the 1960s. The actual engine blocks and heads are not made from the original tooling, they are custom made race engine blocks, but they do have some things in common with the original engines.http://auto.howstuffworks.com/

Nitrous oxide

• It turns out that nitro us oxide (N20) works exactly the same way. When you heat nitrous oxide to about 570 degrees F (~300 C), it splits into oxygen and nitrogen. So the injection of nitrous oxide into an engine means that more oxygen is available during combustion.http://auto.howstuffworks.com/

Cheating on nascar• In this country during 1950s the

famed stock car racer Smokey Yunick rediscoverd nitrous oxide injection as one of his many schemes for winning races until discovered and outlawed by NASCAR. Neverthesless, there have been several nitrous oxide cheating scandals in NASCAR over the years and it is probably still used today by the slowest of backmarkers. In the late-70s/early-80s nitrous oxide was "rediscovered" by drag racers and hot rodders.
