Self-elevating platforms (jacking rigs and self-propelled jack-up barges) provide a flexible and safe working environment. The IJUBOA two day modular training course is specifically developed to assist Operatives and Deck Crew to further their understanding of the range of risks associated with the safe deployment of jack-ups and a corresponding understanding of the control of the associated hazards while working as part of the deck crew. The course fulfils the need to develop skills and knowledge of employees. This course offers your company a competitive advantage as it can be used as proof for such training demands as part of the career path of your deck crew. Course Objective To provide participants with an understanding of the fundamental principles of jack-up barge operations. Course Delivery The course is targeted at persons who carry out the duties of Deck Crew or Jacking Engineers and have current experience on Jack-Up Barges. The course is designed to specifically cover the unique aspects of the different types of Jack-Up Barge used today including; • Types of Jacking Systems • Fundamentals of Site Specific Surveys • Stability and Use of Cranes • Assessing Safe Haven and Weather Data Qualification information When the course is successfully completed an IJUBOA Award will be awarded to the participant along with an IJUBOA Blue Book for the individual to log ongoing training and experience in practice. The Award can be used as relevant training towards the IJUBOA Award in Jack-Up Barge Operations (Barge Master).
