THE CONNECTION BETWEEN IGOOGLE AND LEARNING THEORY
By looking at Cognitive Theory, iGoogle concerns with how learners receive and manipulate information during learning and the function of iGoogle itself is almost the same with cognitive theory where the information is subsequently processed, organized, stored and retrieved when needed.
By looking at Constructivist Theory, iGoogle can build social interactions which are considered critically important in the construction of knowledge.
CURRICULUM AND ASSESSMENT
From South Australian Curriculum, Standards and Accountability Framework (2001), it states that:
- Learners develop:A sense of power and potential of literacy, numeracy and information and communication technologies.
- This include:Making effective use of language, mathematical and information and communication technology tools.

…ASSESSMENT
iGoogle through its social learning games and stored gadgets can be used by teachers to asses students using curriculum-based assessments/formative assessment method.
Considerable methods are work samples (games) and rating scale (pay attention to agenda or not), conferences (chat room), observation (update educational gadgets or not), and performance assessments (on line quiz)

A THOUGHT…
I imagine that over time users will have their own dashboard iGoogle type and pull or let the relevant content be fired at them and that the sort of static sites we have been used to in the past have a limited past, i.e. agree with above – of course (One day, all this will be blogs at Helpful Technology).
THANK YOU CLASSFOR SHARING AND FOR BEING A SMART TEACHER WHO SELECTS A SMART WEB 2 TOOL
