Mon W/B 25/02/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

For our first task we had to define and summarise design briefs. From the brief examples we were given we had to answer 5 questions such as who was the client? and What media products did the client require>

Next week I will come up with possible ideas for my final major project. I will start my ideas generation using powerpoints, mind maps and Tagxedo.

Mon W/B 04/03/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

Our second task was our ideas generation. Firstly I made a mood board to help me decided whether I wanted to make a music video, film trailer or a magazine cover. At first I decided on a music video. This later changed to a horror film trailer. I used tagxedo to show some ideas, I also made a mind map for ideas of my music video and also my horror trailer. I made a big mind map that showed all other final projects I could have done.

Next week I will make a final decision on what my project will be about. Whether it is a music video, film trailer, short film or magazine cover. I will write up and present my pitch of my idea to the client.

Mon W/B 11/03/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

After creating my mind maps, I created a power point filled with ideas; this is to play whilst doing my pitch. Then I wrote up my project proposal. Then finally wrote up my script. I presented the pitch to the client.

Next week I will do background research on horror films and horror film trailers. I will look into what settings, music, editing techniques and the whole mise-en-scene of my horror trailer.

Mon W/B 18/03/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

For this part of the course it was all about the research for my chosen product. I created a power point filled with horror related things. Also a separate power point talking about research in horror films, settings I’d like to use, editing techniques and iconography. This helped me understand the horror genre better and also helped motivate me with more ideas for my product. I then created a survey to see if my target audience would be interested in the horror genre and interested in watching a horror film trailer.

Next week I will start my Pre-production. This will include my location recce, call sheet, storyboards and a production dairy.

Mon W/B 01/04/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

Next in the course was all the pre-production. This is a vital part of making my trailer. First I did the location recce this was to make sure my location was safe and available for shooting in. Then I wrote out the call sheets and got everyone was involved contact details. The final part of the pre-production was to draw out my storyboards for my idea.

The next step will be to shoot my footage. I will have to organise for the cast and crew to meet up at the location at a certain time.

Mon W/B 08/04/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

After my idea for my final major project was finalised, I then had to move onto the production. Filming was quite difficult as I had to film at times when my location wasn’t busy with the public and at times when my location was open.

The last thing I will have to do it to edit my footage together and upload it to YouTube.

Mon W/B 15/04/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

The final part to my production was to edit the final trailer together using adobe premiere pro and adobe after effects.

Get feedback from my target audience and then write my evaluation.

Mon W/B 22/04/13(Detailed Weekly Summary)

The last thing that needs doing is my evaluation. In this I will write about my final project and how I got to making it. It will include feedback from my Facebook discussion group.

Finish off small pieces of work and get full feedback from tutor.
