ICCAD Presentation Guidelines
ICCAD 2008
Slide Rules & Recommendations
• All presentations should be made in a version of PowerPoint
• Use Landscape layout• Company name and /or logo are only allowed on the title
page• Do not use any sound effects• Use large font sizes. 20 point and higher for regular test,
18 point for descriptive text
Slide Formats
• Slide format advice :– Identification of your organization is restricted to the
first slide only, no marketing presentations please!
– Dark/light or light/dark is OK, contrast is key
– Use large, bold fonts to insure readability
– Where possible, less text & more pictures
• Avoid using the bottom of the slides– Rooms are flat, difficult to see
Presentation Suggestions
• Rehearsal in front of others will help you feel more comfortable the day of your presentation
• Spend a minimum of 30 seconds on each slide
• Speak across the slides
Projection Equipment
• Video projection – Preferred: download slides to ICCAD
computers (Windows XP Pro, Winzip)– Possible: project directly from your laptop

Before the Talk: Speakers• Use the practice rooms• Get to know your moderator
– Hand over your background information
• Arrive during the break before your session– Conference rooms are generally open other times
too
• Verify that your slides project correctly– Projectors vary widely– Check equations, pictures, special characters,
bottom/sides of slides
During the Talk: Speakers• Put on microphone; verify sound projection
– Attach microphone center, high up– Be careful about head turning and sound loss
• Find & test the laser pointer– Use sparingly: point, explain moving the pointer only
minimally; turn pointer off
• Advance slides w/ mouse or keyboard arrows• Time talk carefully: use clock on podium
ICCAD ARCHIVE
• ICCAD archive will include the speakers papers along with their PowerPoint presentations. This is for historical reference area for the ICCAD community.
• We are encouraging all authors to participate. Please load your presentation on the desktop computer in your meeting room. A PDF file is preferred, however, a PPT file is acceptable
