•Eliminate the State Street to Gilbert Street Diagonal Connection▫Original design closed State Street for the new I-74

piers

▫New piers not constructed, so State Street can stay open

▫Diagonal connection is no longer needed for staging

▫Land occupied by the connection could become developable

▫State Street will need patching and/or resurfacing

▫Ownership of State Street will transfer to the City

•Geometry Existing State Street & Proposed US 67 ▫Sharp skew angle was not desirable

▫Eliminate the connection

Access to the area between 11th and 12th Streets would be via new US 67, south on 12th Street and west on State Street - Rejected

▫Modify the connection

State Street one way between 11th and 12th Street

QCA Spas and Adel would have right-in/right-out entrances as they do today.

•WB I-74 Exit Ramp to State Street/US 67

▫To be maintained at all times▫Temporary connection in the interim condition

•Intersection of State Street and 12th Street▫May experience capacity issues in the interim

condition

▫Kimberly and State Street accessing the EB entrance ramp

▫Intersection often experiences delays now

Bettendorf Local Roads – Current

Page 19: I-74 Bettendorf Local Roads Meeting

19

•Calvert Drive to Remain Open Until I-74 Built▫ If closed, traffic exiting businesses north of

Mississippi Blvd on 14th Street would need to detour north to Central then back on 15th Street to access the downtown

▫Existing traffic on Calvert Drive is light, however a detour may cause confusion for drivers

•Parking

▫Some parking lot spaces will be lost

▫There is the potential to gain some spaces along State Street.
