Please bring a water bottle as there are no drinking fountains in the building. Hsing-I Short Stick for Middle-Schoolers Hiromi Hangai Johnson Grades 4 – 9 Fridays 4:30 – 5:30 pm Fall Term II: $110 (8 classes) (Class begins Fri. Nov. 5; registration deadline: Oct. 30) Hsing-I (Form and Mind) Short Stick is one of three Internal Martial Arts. Movements are linear and more vigorous than T’ai Chi and suitable for children and adolescents. It helps channel their energy while helping them to develop confidence, cultivate calm, and achieve a disciplined mind. Participants will learn the 1 st and 2 nd sections of the form. Participants will be introduced to the History of the Internal Martial Arts and its philosophy, as well. Each student should bring his/her own stick made of bamboo or a wooden dowel. Stick Measurement: length should be from the floor to the bellybutton; diameter should be between ½ -inch and an inch. Intro to T'ai Chi Workshop Hiromi Hangai Johnson All ages! Children w/ parent, older children, teens, adults, seniors, families… Saturday, November 6: Noon – 1:00 pm $15 per person; register in advance (registration deadline: November 3 rd ) Come and try T'ai Chi! Enjoy this fun and informal event introducing a short set of T'ai Chi along with history and applications. Hiromi Hangai Johnson is the founder of Hiromi T'ai Chi, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching T'ai Chi Ch'uan and related martial and healing arts. Hiromi started practice of T'ai Chi and Ch'i Kung in 1980. She is a student of Grandmaster Wang Fu-Lai and a certified instructor of the International Cheng-Ming Martial Arts Association in Taiwan.
