First steps

• You’ll need a computer with an internet connection

• Make sure you have the iTunes software installed on your computer

• You can download it from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Launch iTunes

• You’ll see a number of choices in the left-hand-side column.

• Click on “iTunes Store”

Click on “iTunes U”

• In iTunes 9, there’s a new tab for accessing iTunes U.

• Click on it to go to the iTunes U part of the iTunes Store.

Find a University

• You can browse for content from this page, or find a specific uni.

• The list of unis can be found here.

Choose a university

• You can find a list of all participating unis with public pages here.

• Or you can choose a single country

• Here is the start page for the Open University.

• Click on “Creativity and Design”

• There are 36 tracks in the “Creative Writing” area – let’s have a look at it!

Example – track listing

• On this page you can look at individual tracks, and their accompanying PDF transcripts. If you want a single track, click “Get” to download it.

iTunes U library

• Once downloaded, the tracks will appear in the iTunes U part of your Music library.

“Subscribe”

• If you want to download all the track descriptions, you can click “Subscribe”. This will also allow you to download new content as it is released.

Listen!

• To listen to a track, simply double-click on it.

You can move back, play/pause, move forward through tracks, adjust the volume, or move through a track.
