If the trim still looks dull and faded after a thorough cleaning

then you must apply some restoration product in smooth and

gliding ways

Choose and apply a trim protectant that will keep it safe

from sun damage and the UV rays degradation

One can also restore the extremely damaged trim by using a bumper

dye, but be careful as it can discolor the paint of other parts of

vehicle

If you are concerned with restoring the molding and the discolored part then you can use a polymer based black dye that will give a better look as well as protect the vinyl surface.
