How to make an stl file

These steps will show you how to make a 3d object on inventor into an

stl file to print on a 3d printer

Step 1

• Open Autodesk inventor and create a new 2d sketch.

Step 2

• Click standard.ipt to begin .

Step 3

• Change your 2d sketch into a 3d sketch.

Step 4

• Go to 3d model.

Step 5

• Create a 3d sketch.

Step 6

• Select the shape you are going to make ex. Box, sphere, cylinder, or a torus.

Step 7

• Select which plane you are going to draw on.

Step 8

• Make how big your object is going to be.

Step 9

• X out of revolution

Step 10

• Click the green check

• Export your design into a dwg file and save it to the desktop.

Step 11

• Open your design with auto cad and select the 2d wireframe words and go to realistic and click.

Step 12

• Export to an stl file and save it on the desktop.
