How did you attract/address your audience?

To attract my target audience I tried a variety of different techniques, firstly I used an artist on the front cover who is around the same age as my target audience. By doing this I attracted my target audience because they feel as though they can relate more to someone of there own age rather than someone who is ten years older than them. I also included information about TV shows that people who are interested in pop music may watch such as The Voice, by doing this I addressed my target audiences culture as they are likely to watch programmes like this and would be interested in finding out behind the scenes information about shows they watch all the time.

Because there is both a male and female target audience I included stories and competitions that would interest both genders, both male and female fans of pop music would be interested in the Top 40 chart and by having that on the front cover as a cover line would attract the target audience as the charts is a subject that would interest them.

How did you attract/address your audience?

The light blue fonts and background addresses my target audience of males and females because the colour is not too feminine or too masculine, it suits both genders and therefore makes it clear from the front cover that the whole magazine is suitable for both male and females

The cover lines attract my target audience because they are mixed, the cover line that advertises the competition seems more aimed towards females as it includes spending the day with a female artist however the cover line about the interview would maybe be more attractive to a male audience because they feel like they can relate more to him than a female reader. The header and footer

would attract both a male and female audience because they feature a variety of different artists that would be well known to any person who is interested in pop music.

Having the main image feature a young female within the target audience age range of 16-18 would attract the target audience because they feel as though they’d be able to relate more to people their own age rather than someone older.
