Our annual signature event began as a way to honor the heroes of September 11, 2001 and to celebrate the spirit of humanitarianism by recognizing local individuals who have shown courage, kindness and unselfish character through their acts of heroism in the communities we serve in central Massachusetts.

Over the past eight years, a variety of individuals and groups have been recognized for their contributions – from saving a life by performing CPR or the Heimlich maneuver.....to individuals traveling to impoverished nations to build health clinics.....to individuals who have donated blood for years helping to save hundreds of lives.....yes, the group has been quite diverse.....and they are all Heroes.

The funds raised for this event help support the promotion and teaching of critical life-saving skills through the programs and services provided by the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts. Financial support at the local level is necessary to provide our communities with disaster relief services, effective preparation for disaster response, healthcare career training and assistance to our military families.

It is always inspiring to honor and appreciate some truly wonderful and often times unsung heroes in our community. They depict the goodness in our human spirit with selfless acts of kindness and heroism that have made a huge impact on countless lives.
