July 15, 2019 Construction began on Monday July 8 th , 2019 by removing the existing roadway where the tunnel will be constructed and installed. Last week the contractor wasted no time by quickly starting to excavate for the east wing wall footing as well as setting forms and tying rebar. Concrete was poured this morning for the footings. Moving forward this week and into the next, the contractor plans to continue work on the wing walls and excavate for the installation of the precast box culvert that will be installed next week. They also plan to relocate the Serpent Lake Sanitary Sewer District’s forcemain.
