counting out the objects into the basket as this is an objective for Maths. Videos are limited to 1

Bramley Church of England Primary Task 4: Grownups if at all possible, draw a basket outline in your child’s book. They can write what to

put in the basket in the drawing of the basket. Encourage children to say the words slowly so that

they can listen to the sounds. In the front of their red books is a phoneme mat to help them.

Bramley Church of England Primary Task 5: Give children to challenge of using the numbers from last week. Show the children this clip

Muddle up the numbers and ask your child to place them in order (copy provided) Allow children

the chance to copy them on paper first (this can be in their book or scrap paper). Then take the

paper away (or turn it over if in their book) and hide the numbers, can they remember how to write

them in order? Can they write them in the back of their red book? If you find your child can

complete this task easily then challenge them with how high can you write your numbers up to?

Bramley Church of England Primary Task 6: Discuss with your child over meal time, what does healthy mean? What are healthy foods?

Why are they healthy? Discuss what foods are unhealthy? Explain that it is ok to have unhealthy

foods sometimes but only as a special treat. Get your child on a double page in their yellow book to

draw 2 plates (one on each page) get them to draw on one plate healthy foods and on the other

plate unhealthy foods. For an extra challenge get the children to label the foods.

Bramley Church of England Primary Task 11: Use 2 bags, or 2 boxes, or 2 baskets or 2 tubs. Place a different item in each box and discuss

which is heavier and which is lighter? How do you know? Model using the scales to weight the items.

Discuss units of measure and discuss I wonder if this could be heavier or lighter? Why do you think

that? Really promote the language: heavier, lighter, heavy, light, heaviest, lightest. Divide a page in

half at the back of their red book and on one side write heavy and the other write light. Children to

draw and label the items they weighed. For a real challenge can they write how much each item

weighed?
