Where did Grandmother hide?
What does gasped mean? Look at the picture in the clip to help you.
Do you think Little Red Hiding knew it was the wolf dressed as Grandmother? Why?
What do you think would have happened if Little Red Riding Hood had invited the Big Bad Wolf to
tea and cake at Grandmother’s Cottage? Do you think the ending still would have been the same?
Why?
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 2 - You do not necessarily have to use a basket, feel free to use a bag or a box, anything you
can to put the correct number of objects in. Please video or take photos of your child physically
counting out the objects into the basket as this is an objective for Maths. Videos are limited to 1
minute on tapestry but you can upload several videos at once.
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 3: Every child has been provided with a copy of this sheet. Please cut out the characters and
encourage your child to describe each character, can you think of different words for big and bad for
the wolf?
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 4: Grownups if at all possible, draw a basket outline in your child’s book. They can write what to
put in the basket in the drawing of the basket. Encourage children to say the words slowly so that
they can listen to the sounds. In the front of their red books is a phoneme mat to help them.
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 5: Give children to challenge of using the numbers from last week. Show the children this clip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVzXKfr6e8
Muddle up the numbers and ask your child to place them in order (copy provided) Allow children
the chance to copy them on paper first (this can be in their book or scrap paper). Then take the
paper away (or turn it over if in their book) and hide the numbers, can they remember how to write
them in order? Can they write them in the back of their red book? If you find your child can
complete this task easily then challenge them with how high can you write your numbers up to?
Watch this clip afterwards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TgLtF3PMOc
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 6: Discuss with your child over meal time, what does healthy mean? What are healthy foods?
Why are they healthy? Discuss what foods are unhealthy? Explain that it is ok to have unhealthy
foods sometimes but only as a special treat. Get your child on a double page in their yellow book to
draw 2 plates (one on each page) get them to draw on one plate healthy foods and on the other
plate unhealthy foods. For an extra challenge get the children to label the foods.
Unhealthy
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 7: Encourage the children to use the characters that they cut out in task 3 to recreate the story.
Please video or take pictures for tapestry (videos will only upload if the are 1 minute in length to
tapestry – so may need to take multiple videos).
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 8: Each child has been given this sheet. Can the children complete this task and then have a go
at creating their own.
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 9: Link to task 6. Ask the children if Grandmother is not feeling well what food do you think will
make her feel better? Talk about how healthy foods make you feel and which food the children think
would be the best healthy food to help you feel better and why? Encourage the children to come up
with a range of ideas and draw them in the basket for Grandmother.
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 10: Every child has been given a copy of these images. Please cut them out and stick them in
the correct order in your book.
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 11: Use 2 bags, or 2 boxes, or 2 baskets or 2 tubs. Place a different item in each box and discuss
which is heavier and which is lighter? How do you know? Model using the scales to weight the items.
Discuss units of measure and discuss I wonder if this could be heavier or lighter? Why do you think
that? Really promote the language: heavier, lighter, heavy, light, heaviest, lightest. Divide a page in
half at the back of their red book and on one side write heavy and the other write light. Children to
draw and label the items they weighed. For a real challenge can they write how much each item
weighed?
Bramley Church of England Primary Task 12: Please share pictures on tapestry of your homemade cages.
