Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord myGod, You are magnified exceedingly; Youclothe Yourself with thanksgiving andmajesty, who cover Yourself with light aswith a garment, who stretch out the heavenslike a curtain; You are He who covers Hisupper chambers with water, who makes theclouds His means of approach, who walkson the wings of the winds, who makes Hisangels spirits and His ministers a flame offire. He established the earth on its stablefoundation; it shall not be moved unto ages ofages. The deep like a garment is His covering;the waters shall stand upon the mountains;at Your rebuke they shall flee; at the soundof Your thunder, they shall be afraid. Themountains rise up, and the plains sink downto the place You founded for them. You set

Again the Lord said to Moses, "Go downand solemnly charge the people and sanctifythem today and tomorrow, and let themwash their clothes. Let them be ready forthe third day, for on the third day the Lordwill descend upon Mount Sinai in the sightof all the people. You shall set bounds forthe people all around, saying, 'Take heedto yourselves that you do not go up to themountain or touch its base. Whoever touchesthe mountain shall surely die, surely bestoned or shot with an arrow; whether man orbeast, he shall not live.' When the thunders, the trumpets, and the cloud depart from themountain, they shall ascend the mountain." SoMoses went down from the mountain to thepeople and sanctified them, and they washedtheir clothes. Then he said to the people, "Beready for the third day; do not come nearyour wives." So it was that on the third dayin the morning, there were thunderings andlightnings and a dark cloud on Mount Sinai;and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, and all the people in the camp trembled. And Moses brought the people out of thecamp to meet with God, and they stood atthe foot of the mountain. Now Mount Sinaiwas completely enveloped in fire. Its smokeascended like the smoke of a furnace, and thepeople were exceedingly amazed. And whenthe blast of the trumpet sounded long andbecame louder and louder, Moses spoke, andGod answered him by voice. [SAAS]

Now whenJesus was at Bethany in the house of Simonthe leper, a woman came up to him with analabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head, as he sat attable. But when the disciples saw it, they wereindignant, saying, "Why this waste? For thisointment might have been sold for a largesum, and given to the poor." But Jesus, awareof this, said to them, "Why do you troublethe woman? For she has done a beautifulthing to me. For you always have the poorwith you, but you will not always have me.In pouring this ointment on my body shehas done it to prepare me for burial. Truly, Isay to you, wherever this gospel is preachedin the whole world, what she has done willbe told in memory of her." Then one of thetwelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, wentto the chief priests and said, "What will yougive me if I deliver him to you?" And theypaid him thirty pieces of silver. And from thatmoment he sought an opportunity to betrayhim. Now on the first day of UnleavenedBread the disciples came to Jesus, saying,"Where will you have us prepare for you toeat the passover?" He said, "Go into the cityto a certain one, and say to him, 'The Teachersays, My time is at hand; I will keep thepassover at your house with my disciples.'"And the disciples did as Jesus had directedthem, and they prepared the passover.
