It is Good That We Are Here – As Jesus was trans ig-ured in dazzling white with Moses and Elijah on Mount Tabot the Apostles do not want the moment to end. We can only imagine what it was like to see Jesus in splendor and glory and can also understand the Apostles’ desire to stay there forever. After all, isn’t that what we anticipate heaven to be like? Yet, days before, these same Apostles wanted nothing to do with Jesus telling them that he must suffer and die and that they must take up their crosses and follow him to be his disciples. Do we, at times, want all the glory without any of the work and suffering? During this Lenten season it is very good that we are with Jesus in his suffering, so that we might be with him one day in his glory. The same is true of our journey OnMissionforTheChurchAlive! While there may be great chal-lenges in forming new, vibrant communities of faith, the new life possible for our parishes will shine bright-ly and be re lected in our lives. May we remain devot-ed to prayer, fasting and good works this Lent so that our hearts will be made ready for all that lies in store for us. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to learn more and to stay informed.

A RACHEL’S VINEYARD WEEKEND RETREAT For post-abortion healing will be held on March 2-4, 2018 in Millvale, PA. To register or for more infor-mation, call Toni Jester at 412-352-5348 or email:

These values strength-en youth character in family life, community ser-vice, and personal faith. This year, Scout Sunday was celebrated on February 11th at the noon mass with Father Bob and Deacon Tim.
