Good Easter People of Holy Cross, The Irish speak of “thin places” in the human experience where we sense God’s presence as intimate, near, almost tangible. When we love one another a thin place may suddenly, wondrously, and beautifully blossom. We sense a new dimension of friendship or the healing power of reconciliation. A broken place in our souls we thought would never heal suddenly senses the balm of the Spirit that is nothing less than the touch of God’s grace. Love’s witness is often met in a thin place that is utter mystery and never rationally, logically figured out. To “love one another” ultimately finds its expression in each of us. The scandals that have rocked the Catholic Church feed an already disillusioned populace. The witness we choose to share may be the most important witness ever. All of us as the Body of Christ are summoned to hear and heed our Lord’s most powerful and transformative commandment to “love one another.” Let our witness be a radically personal, dangerously forgiving, warmly shared love for one another. “In this way, all will know” we follow Jesus Christ. FAITH FORMATION Registration for the 2019-2020 Faith Formation Year: Registration for the 2019-2020 faith formation year will begin on Sunday, April 28th and run through August 11, 2019. You may register online at the following link https://form.jotform.com/90835571137157 or in person Mondays and Wednesday from 10:00 am-4:00 pm in the Faith Formation Office. Registration Sundays will be May 19th, June 23rd, July 28th and August 11th from 10:00 am – 3:00pm. We encourage families to register online and avoid having to come in to register. Catechist and Catechist Assistants Needed for the 2019 -2020 School year By our Baptismal promise we are all called to Evangelize, Catechize and be witnesses to our Catholic faith. Is God calling you to share your faith with the young church? Not sure if you are qualified to be a catechist or a catechist assistant? Catechesis certification classes will be offered on Wednesday, June 19th and Wednesday, July 24th from 6:00-9:00pm plus all Catechist are encouraged to attend the Atlanta Catechist Conference on Saturday, August 17th from 8:30-5:30 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel on Cobb Parkway (re-registration re-quired, see Barb Garvin, Director of Faith Formation too register) Ongoing certification classes will continue monthly throughout the school year so that you have the skills you need to share your faith. Opportunity to Make a Real Difference as a Volunteer This Summer To Children of the Refugee and Immigrant Community

As Catholics we are especially called to reach out to those in the refugee and immigrant community. Good Shepherd Services in Chamblee has been led by Sister Christine Truong for twenty-five years and offers a Summer Program for children each year. The program this year will be June 10 through July 3, Mondays through Thursdays from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Good Shepherd Services is located at 2426 Shallowford Terrace, Cham-blee. Due to the increased need and participation, there is an urgent need for volunteers. You may commit to volunteer every day, several days or whatever amount of days you are available to assist the children with learning and activities. Men, women or teenagers are welcome to apply. Homebound? Do you know a parishioner who is homebound due to illness, or is elderly and would like to receive Communion? Please contact Eileen Anandappa at 770-908-0062.

Altar Flowers: The altar flowers may be given in memory or honor of loved ones or special occasions, such as anniversaries and birthdays. To schedule your altar flower intentions, please call Martha Murphy at 770-934-1464.

Votive Candles: Celebrate the life of family or friends with a Votive Candle. Votive candles burn brightly night and day as expressions of prayer for special intentions. At Holy Cross, the bottom rows (the smaller candles) are lit for a love offering. Simply deposit your offering and push button. Contact Yrene Lorenzo for a monthly or yearly intention.

Gluten-Free Hosts Gluten-free hosts are available upon request. Please call the parish office ahead of time if you would like to receive one.

Hearing-impaired devices Hearing-impaired devices are available at all weekend Masses. If you would like to use one, please visit the Welcome Desk or as an Usher.
