PRINCIPAL’S CORNER
Dear Parents,
This is my third Principal's Corner to remind you
of a special meeting for the Parents, Pastor, and Principal. Fr. Rich and I look forward to spending
time with our community learning how to better serve you and assist you as you raise your
children in their faith. Being a parent in today's
world is vastly different than being a parent 20 years ago. Come and join us as we pray
together, talk together and grow together.
Thank you for your continued support!!
Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLE) are the theme for next week’s conferences. These are vital to attend with your child. Part of the graduation process is a one on
one interview with the principal where your child will explain how they have met their SLE's throughout their time here at Holy Name of Mary.
Blessings,
Debbie Marquez

HEALTH ROOM KIDS’ CLUB
Dear Parents,
Part of our new health protocols will be notifications through email to inform you of any outbreaks. At this time, our
school has a respiratory illness that presents with headache,
fever, sore throat and cough. If you have a child who is at home for these symptoms please notify Mrs. Bryant-Evans
at extension 227. We will be tracking these illnesses. Please remember to keep your child home until they are fever free
for 24 hours without the use of any antipyretics-fever reducing medicines such as: Tylenol (acetaminophen),
Motrin (Ibuprofen), Aleve (Naproxen), or Aspirin. This
insures that they are no longer contagious. Please read the Principal's Corner for more health protocols tomorrow.
IMPORTANT
There are ways to prevent the spread of infection from person to person these include: enforcing frequent, good
handwashing with warm water and soap for 20 seconds, especially before eating and after using the toilet.
Enforcing good respiratory etiquette, like covering nose and
mouth with a tissue when coughing and sneezing (or a shirt sleeve or elbow if no tissue is available) and dispose of
tissues properly in the trash.
Please remind your children to do so as will we to
prevent the spread of diseases and infections.
Sincerely,
Debbie Marquez

“RESISTING HAPPINESS”
THURSDAY EVENINGS January 19th-26th, 2017
7-8:30pm Room 201
THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Matthew 4:12-17
REFLECTING ON THE WORD
Although John’s imprisonment coincided with the beginning of Jesus’ public life, Jesus didn’t leave Nazareth to avoid the implications of John’s arrest. The New Age had finally arrived. The image of Jesus as the “great light” that Isaiah spoke of is clear. Equally obvious is the mission of Jesus to preach repentance and anticipate the Kingdom of God for those who would become disciples. Jesus came to proclaim the Good News, the news that this Kingdom was at hand. How radical was Jesus’ notion!
……On the Way to Mass
I wonder how you know if God calls you to the priesthood or to become a sister or brother. How do you hear God?
On the Way Home from Mass……
I wonder what you would do if Jesus phoned you to be a disciple. How would you respond to his call?
Parent Day of Reflection: Eucharist (formerly 1st Communion Parent Meeting)
