TurboSystem Assisted WorkflowTurboSystem Assisted Workflow

• The ANSYS TurboSystem is a new feature in ANSYS 11.0

• The assisted workflow is a set of three new project page tasks that automate the process of setting up and running a single blade analysis, including meshing, solving, and report generation

• This functionality is an alternative to the BladeGenPlus analysis capability (Legacy product)

TS: Mesh sizeTS: Mesh size

• Mesh parameters based on cmdb template (BladeModeler/BladeEditor/etc/ template.cmdb)

• Mesh size can be adjusted by changing the Mesh Scale Factor (MSF) in CFX-Mesh

• Default MSF is 0.6• Larger meshes produced for tall

thin axial blades than for radial blades

• CFX-Mesh MSF preference has no effect on template MSF, only on new mesh sessions

TS: Mesh TipsTS: Mesh Tips

• CFX-Mesh is fairly robust with the default template settings, but can fail for usual reasons: edit in CFX-Mesh to diagnose and fix the problem

• Mesh is relatively coarse, but finer than typical meshes produced in BladeGenPlus (No inflation on hub/shroud in BG+)

• May need to add mesh controls to resolve details, e.g. the wake region downstream of the blade

• Slight changes to Component Definition

– Turbo CCL data now passed to CFX-Post for turbo initialization and report creation

– Must write def file from Turbo Mode to get full benefit of the Turbo CCL data, otherwise only subset of information is passed
