Admission Procedure

1. The College is open to all the students who possess the required qualifications for

admissions as per the rules and regulations of the Andhra University.

2. Eligibility:

Candidates seeking admission into B.Sc./B.Com degree courses are required.

a) To have passed the intermediate examination conducted by Board of Intermediate

Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

b) To have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (XII Std.) conducted by any

Central Board of Secondary Education.

c) To have passed the Indian School Certificate Examination (12 years) conducted by

the council for Indian School Certificate Examinations

3. The College is open to all students who have the required qualification for admission without

distinction of caste and creed.

4. Every year the admissions will be started immediately after the announcement of

Intermediate results during the month of May/ June.

5. Prescribed application form along with prospectus can be obtained from the college office

by the payment of prescribed fee.

6. a) Filled in applications for admission should be sent to the Principal along with the following

enclosures on or before the last date prescribed.

b) Attested Photo copies of marks list, proof of date of birth certificate, community certificate

in case of reserved category, prescribed registration fees, self-addressed envelope duly

stamped.

7. Intimation will be sent to the student according to the merit and reservations. The

Parent/Guardian of the student must present for the interview.

8. Those who are qualified for admission will be admitted into the college on payment of

prescribed fees on the same day.

9. At the time of admission, the candidate should submit the following documents in original.

Payment of Fees

1. The Academic year is divided into 3 terms for payment of fees. Fees once paid will not

be refunded under any circumstance.

2. Every student shall be liable to pay the fees for the whole year during any part of the

term for which his/her name is on the rolls.

3. The 1st term fees will be included with other fee during the admission.

4. If a student fails to pay his/her fees within the stipulated period as given in the calendar,

he / she shall have to pay the fee with fine.

5. If the fees together with fine is not paid within the last day of the fees collection, the

student's name would be removed from the rolls. The deleted name will be displayed

in the notice board. For the above period the attendance will not be considered.

6. The fees must be paid in the college office between 10.30 a.m. to 2.00. p.m. on all

working days.

7. A receipt signed by the Principal shall be issued for the fees payments.

College Timings

The college timings are as follows: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

1. A certain number of classes or practical work may be held outside the prescribed

working hours whenever necessary.

2. In case of any changes in usual timings, it will be informed by notice.

Attendance

1. All the students are required to put in 100% attendance for both theory & practical’s.

However 75% of minimum attendance is required to appear for the University

Examinations. This should be strictly observed.

2. A condonation fee of Rs.500/- will be collected for shortage of attendance between

66% and 75% (on medical grounds)

3. A student who is not in the class at the commencement of each period, shall be marked

absent for the period.

4. A student coming late should not attend the class without obtaining permission from

the concerned lecturer of that class.

5. Students who absent themselves frequently from classes without valid reasons or who

habitually come late to the classes will be subjected to disciplinary action taken by the

principal according to the rules of this section.

6. No leave on the eve of any examination is allowed except with the prior permission

from the principal / Leave letter should be counted signed by the parent/guardian.

7. If he/she is absent for one period before the interval or after the interval, half day will

be marked as absent.

8. The attendance of every student will be informed to the parent along with progress

report either by post or through the student.

9. If his/her attendance performance is not satisfactory the parent should meet the

principal in time and should take corrective measures.

Theory & Practical Classes

1. For both theory & practicals, students should attend sharply within the prescribed

college timings.

2. For every theory class, students should maintain running class notes. This will be

checked individually at any time.

3. While attending practical classes, every student should bring observation note book,

completed practical records & logarithm books if necessary, failing which the student

will not be allowed to do practicals.

4. After the completion of every practical class, they should get the observation note book

signed by the concerned lecturer.

5. If any instrument is broken / spoiled during the practical work, the cost of the item as

per the bill will be collected from such students at the end of every academic year.

6. Record note books will be supplied by the college on payment. Only college supplied

record note books will be bonafied for practical examinations to maintain uniformity.

Examinations

1. This college will conduct monthly unit tests during the months of August/September,

November/ December/ January and Pre- Public Examinations during the month of

February/March for each academic year. In addition to the above examinations,

subject-wise class tests will be conducted by the concerned lecturers.

2. No student shall abstain from any examination or class test without prior permission.

In case of illness or emergency, prior permission of the Principal and the lecturer

concerned should be obtained. Violation of this rule will lead to a serious punishment.

3. Those who fail to secure 40% marks in the above examinations, shall write one time

imposition and the absentees shall write the imposition twice and answer complete

question paper without any choice. These impositions should be submitted to the

concerned lecturer within the stipulated time.

4. From the academic year 2005-2006 the University is conducting the Instant

Examination for all the degree students, those who have failed in final year in one

theory subject, hereafter if there is any change/ modification in the syllabus, there will

be no transitory provision for the degree examinations of this university. The

candidates have to write examinations as per the syllabus in existence. From the year

2015-16 Semester system has been introduced at graduate level and final year

students have yearend examinations

Progress Reports

1. Progress report of each student for all the college examinations will be sent either by

post or through the students to the Parent/ Guardian for their information.

2. The progress report consists of the information regarding marks contained in each

subject, the monthly attendance and other remarks, if any.

3. In case of non-receipt of progress reports of their wards, the parents are advised to

meet the Principal.

4. Parent / Guardian is advised to inform their change of address if any, in the college

office, personally.

Parent / Guardian Approach

1. Parents / Guardians are particularly requested to supervise the studies / progress of

their wards at home and co-operate with the Principal, and his staff in all matters

pertaining to the all-round performance of the students.

2. Parents / Guardians are earnestly requested to keep in touch with the Principal from

time to time regarding progress and conduct of their Sons/Daughters. They are also

advised to meet the Principal at least once in a term to ascertain the progress and

conduct of their sons/daughters.

3. Every effort will be made to inform the parents / guardians about any instance of

serious misconduct on the part of their sons/ daughters. The authorities / the college

don't bind themselves to intimate in advance the Parent / Guardian any action which

they are compelled to take against the student in the best interest.

4. Every parent is informed to check the progress reports of his sons / daughters

periodically for their attendance particulars. In case of attendance shortage, his/her

ward will be detained without any further intimation.

Library

Our College has a collection of books on various subjects at Degree level and provided

sufficient furniture for the establishment of library. Newspapers and various Magazines are

also available for the students and staff in the library. In order to augment the facilities and

improve the reading habits among the students, the library has been strengthened by number

of reference books with the help of Hindustan Shipyard and these additional reference books

are stocked in the College Book Bank.

1. Every student of this college will be issued a library card by submitting passport size

photograph.

2. A student is allowed to borrow two books at a time, the same should be returned within

7 days from the date of issue or on demand.

3. The books will be issued to the students within the prescribed timings as displayed in

the Notice Board, during the working days.

4. The students should give demand slips one day earlier for borrowing books, to the

librarian.

5. A fine of Rs. 1/- per day is levied for late return for a maximum period of 10 days, after

10 days the present cost of the book will be collected as fine.

6. Students should return all the books of library at least 8 days before the end of III terms

of each academic year or the date to be notified by the Principal.

7. Any Writings, tearing of pages of library books if noticed by the librarian, the present

book cost will be collected as fine.

Sports & Games

The college has its own spacious playground measuring about 2½ acres where sports events

like Cricket, Volleyball and Basketball etc., are being organized on a large scale. All the

Physical Education activities of the College are governed by the committee consisting of the

Principal, the lecturer in Physical Education and the staff members nominated by the Principal.

The Department of Physical Education will maintain attendance register for the students who

participate in the inter-collegiate Games & Sports as well as college Annual Sports Meet and

for practice. For these days, attendance will be provided. Students are advised to attend

practice classes only after the completion of class work.

NCC & NSS

Interested students are advised to enrol themselves for N.C.C. through the Andhra University

N.C.C. units by the submission of relevant certificates from the Principal.

The Aim of N.C.C. is to develop trained, disciplined youth force for recruitment into armed

forces as officers to develop sportsmanship and leadership.

The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) of the college aims at the service of the community by

involving those students who can offer their time, talent and energy to voluntary social work to

get a feeling of being useful to the society. It will train them to fulfil their social responsibility

as proud citizens. For the N.C.C. Cadets and N.S.S. Volunteers, reservation is provided during

admission into graduate courses. Interested students are advised to enrol themselves in

N.C.C. / N.S.S. Units by the submission of relevant certificates.

Identity Card

Each student of this college should poses the identity card with his/her photo affixed on it, duly

attested by the Principal. Students are advised to keep the identity cards with them always

and use them on the following occasions.

a) While entering the college premises

b) To get concessional tickets, if any, while travelling by bus or train.

c) As an identification, when appearing for Public exams.

d) For the receipt of fees concessions, scholarships from the college, if any.

e) For identification while borrowing books from the college library.

f) As a general identification for participating in inter-collegiate sports meet and for

attending college functions.

g) Identity cards will be issued to the students at the time of fresh admission. Identity

cards, if lost will be replaced against a payment of Rs. 50/-

h) Every student, should return the college identity card while taking transfer certificate.

Fine

Fine will be collected from the students, who fail to pay the college fee in the stipulated time,

and from those who do not return the library books within time, who lose their identity and

library cards, from those who fail to wear uniform on the prescribed days and also from those

who fail to attend any examination conducted by college.

NOTE

All the students are strictly prohibited to the usage of cell phones in the college campus. If

found a fine Rs.300/-shall be collected

Scholarships & Concessions

The regular college students are eligible for the following Scholarships.

1. National Merit Scholarship.

2. State Merit Scholarship.

3. Scholarship for SC/ST Students

4. Scholarship for BC and EBC Students.

5. Our college students are eligible for RTC passes and Railway concessions.

6. Endowment scholarships

7. The Principal may not recommend any of the above scholarships or for the

renewal of scholarship if the student.

i. Is irregular in attendance.

ii. Does not show sufficient progress in studies.

iii. Absent himself / herself from class examinations / tests / assignments /

practical etc. without proper reasons, indulges in acts leading to

disobedience / misbehaviour / breach of discipline, strike inside

T C Application

Once admitted into the college, the student should stay all the three years. No T.C. will be

issued in the middle of the course.

In extraordinary conditions like transfers, the student should apply for T.C. during vacation

period and not after the reopening of the college.

After the completion of Degree Course, T.C. form can be obtained by every student on

requisition. Later the student should obtain no dues certificate from all the concerned

departments. He/she should also return the library and identity cards in the Office. Then the

T.C. will be issued to the student in due course.

Anti-Ragging

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is seriously taking the incidences of ragging in

Educational Institutes, to curb the activities of ragging.

According to the government directions, our college has constituted an anti-ragging committee

involving the parents, lecturers and non-teaching staff. The punishments of the offences of

ragging is mentioned below.

1. Teasing, embarrassing and humiliating Imprisonment up to 6 months or fine up to Rs. 1000/- or both

2. Assaulting or using criminal force or criminal intimidation

Imprisonment up to 1 year or fine up to Rs. 2000/- or both

3. Wrongfully restraining or confirming or causing hurt

Imprisonment up to 2 years or fine up to Rs. 2000/- or both

4. Causing grievous hurt, kidnapping or rape or committing un natural offence

Imprisonment up to 5 years or fine up to Rs. 10,000/- or both

5. Causing death or abetting suicide Imprisonment up to 10 years or fine up to Rs. 50,000/- or both
