Recent analysis & testing during hedge-cutting with the 7618 Dyna6 tractor, returned an average as low as 4.07 litres per hour. Ploughing returned an average of just 10.7 litres per hour.

Denhay Farms Ltd currently run a MF 7618 Dyna6 which will shortly be joined by a new MF 7718 Dyna6.

These tractors are factory fitted with the AM53 AgCommand Telemetry device, enabling Steve to measure the fuel usage, engine performance, geographical location, hours and planned servicing.

During a recent trial of HIGHWOOD’s MF 7720 Dyna6 demonstrator against our current New Holland T7.200, we conducted our own fuel tests which showed the 7720 returning a massive 6 litres per hour difference in fuel consumption when running both tractors in the same field with the same 5 metre folding power-harrow. The 7720 returned an average of just 12 litres per hour against the New Holland’s 18 litres per hour.

With our projected tractor use of 2000 hours per year, this gives us a potential saving for 3 years of over £17,000 pounds!

Dan Waterman recently joined us having been with a farming support company for some time visiting and building relationships with farmers throughout Somerset & Dorset.

With a family farming background milking 14 cows before school, through 3 years studying agriculture at Kingston Maurward and working on a 1000 head dairy full time; he had a good grounding in which to excel in his field support job prior to joining us.

DORCHESTER received a huge boost by the news that county town businessman Peter Old is to continue as the club’s main sponsor for another three seasons. Mr Old is chairman of Dorchester based Highwood, a company selling a range of top name farm machinery, grounds care equipment, equestrian

products and clothing. He is also chairman of The Watercress Company, suppliers of watercress and baby leaf salad to the major supermarkets from farms in Dorset, Hampshire, Spain and Florida.

The Kubota GR1600II and GR2120II models form the mainstay of the domestic/small professional range. With a shaft driven deck, Kubota’s world renowned diesel engine and a class leading two year warranty it is clear why so many private and professional users choose Kubota time after time.
