2014 is an extremely important year for Highlander as we launch the new website with B2B online ordering and new packaging. Our new branding will also be incorporated in new Point of Sale and other marketing materials. New POS will also be available in early 2014 with new branding.To strengthen the brand as customer’s choice for camping and outdoor we will continue to target customers with marketing activities such as direct mailing, advertising, trade shows and much more.

Welcome to our 2014 trade catalogue. This year we have gone for a new approach and combined our catalogues into one whereby both outdoor and military products are sitting next to each other. This will enable our customers to see our diversity across outdoor and military product categories.For our camping and outdoor range we have continued to work hard on designing innovative and quality items that are attractive and appealing to the current end user’s needs.Our 2014 tents have been further developed with new additions into larger family sized tents. In addition another innovation is our new self-infl ate mats which are impressive in design, quality and price.New travel luggage is an area which our product designers have carefully studied and developed and bring contemporary and appealing products to the travel market.In camping & outdoor accessories new ranges have been developed in lighting, bottles & fl asks which strengthen the overall product offering. New hats and socks have been designed for 2014 showcasing our product designers’ skills and knowledge in the outdoor market place. Our military range also brings some great development as we launched our own Multi Terrain pattern called HMTC (Highlander Multi Terrain Camoufl age). This pattern has been applied to some of our current core items in rucksacks, clothing & accessories.

For 2014 our product developers have further developed our tent range with new innovative designs. Our most exciting development is our new Aeolus AirPole technology tents. Also in the range are our new Oak tunnel family tent, Elm & Maple weekend tents and new Hawthorn backpacking tents. These tents are in addition to our core range of family/weekend tents; the Cypress and Sycamore and backpacking & festival styles such as the Juniper, Birch and Blackthorn. We provide quality, style and function in our tent range as well as moderate pricing. We believe our products have something for all types of campers to enjoy the outdoor living.

Sleeping Bags 2014

2014 will see further development into a comprehensive and credible sleeping bag range. For example our Voyager range has updated with integrated mosquito head nets as one of the features. To further develop our technical range we’ve developed the ‘Serenity’ range which sits between our Sleepline and Echo bags in relation to specifi cation and pricing. We have not forgotten about the most important campers, the kids, and designed a new funky design collection for them too.

Walking Pole Guide

The Basics

Our walking pole range is designed to suit all levels of activity and price points. The majority of the range is made from lightweight, durable aluminium. However our Skye walking pole is constructed from carbon fi bre which is even lighter for outstanding performance. Carbon fi bre also has natural shock absorbing properties so no anti-shock mechanism is required.

Most poles are split into 2 or 3 sections with a twist lock system or fast lock system to suit the end users height and reach.

Anti-Shock

Anti-shock reduces the amount of impact on your knees, shoulder and back. The internal spring absorbs the shock.

Grips

Most grips are constructed from plastic or cork which is ergonomically shaped. All our poles carry an adjustable wrist loop. The cork handles are great for use in all weathers for better grip.

Tips

Our poles are built with either a robust carbon steel tip or durable tungsten tip.

Section

We have a variety of telescopic poles from 2 to 4 sections. Our 3 section poles are the most popular as they are compact & adjustable. Ideally used for hiking, trekking, mountaineering and climbing.

Lock Styles

Twist Lock

Most poles use screw-together sections which work fi ne under normal use. The twist lock mechanism allows you to extend the pole to the height that you are after.

Fast Lock

Easily adjustable length and is quick and easy to use. It has a secure and strong hold and it provides speedy adjustment when there is a change of terrain and is easier to use in colder climates.

This year we have developed a new socks range which offers entry, mid and top level styles to suit different activities. New winter hats have also been introduced with a contemporary design and style. With these new additions and the current core range, Highlander offers a comprehensive and refreshed look for 2014.

Our mid level sock range is a step up from our entry level as it is better quality in terms of specifi cation and slighter higher in price. The socks fall in 3 levels; merino wool, Coolmax® and Bamboo.

The wool socks contain merino wool which is a natural and high quality fabric which contains natural wicking properties absorbing moisture to keep your foot cool and dry and warm. It’s also breathable and has good stretch whilst retaining shape.

The mid level socks contain a higher percentage of Coolmax® which measns they perform better. Its performance properties include moisture management allowing perspiration away from the foot making it comfortable and cooler. Ideal for more intensive use, for example running, hiking or cycling.

Our Bamboo sock also performs well as Bamboo is another natural fi bre. It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, is lightweight and wicks away sweat whilst keeping your foot dry.

RISK AND PROPERTY

We retain title for any goods supplied until such a time as you have paid in full all monies owed and we receive said monies as cleared funds in our bank account.

PRICING

Our pricing is as highlighted in our trade price list excludes VAT and carriage and may alter without prior notice. We aim to maintain all prices until the next printed price list, but may in certain circumstances exercise this condition in the event of, but not exclusively to major increases in manufacturing costs, currency fluctuations or increase in freight costs.

CARRIAGE AND DELIVERY

Prices quoted for goods are exclusive of any carriage or handling charge, except where the following applies

Any discrepancies with regard to goods delivered by way of quantity shortages, condition of packaging or product defects will be advised verbally within 28 hours of delivery and then in writing within 7 days of delivery, else we accept no liability for said shortages, damages or defects.

PAYMENT

Payment for goods are ordered on a PRO-FORMA basis unless credit terms have been agreed otherwise. Our standard credit terms are 30 days from date of invoice.Where you fail to pay your outstanding balance within our terms, we reserve the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% above the Bank of England base rate per month and we will seek to recover all costs from you where incurred in relation to collection or legal fees.

RETURNS

Any item(s) being returned to us must be authorised in advance. A returns document will be sent in advance to you and must be completed and returned. Arrangements will then be made for the goods to be collected by us.Highlander reserves the right to replace or credit any faulty goods at their discretion. Where any item is to be replaced, that item will be added to the customer’s next order. In the interest of hygiene, any item(s) being returned must be free from dust or dirt and in a clean condition.

ONLINE SALES

We have an advertised RRP (recommended retail price) on our website and in our price list. We feel this pricing is competitive for the market. The product should not be undervalued in a way that could de-value our brand.We will only work with e-retailers who have the intention and facilities to store product on their premises as we do not support an order-to-sale relationship. Those who wish to sell our product through EBAY, AMAZON or any other auction site as a sole means of selling our product will not be successful in opening a trade account.Those who choose to market our products on their site have a responsibility to ensure products are displayed in conjunction with our brand guidelines and expectations.
