Advanced Placement Key Findings
• The number of Advanced Placement exams taken has gone up by 25% in the last six years.
• 95% of students score a 3 or higher.
• Nearly three-fourths of PAUSD’s Class of 2014 took and passed at least one AP exam before graduation.
• The percentage of underrepresented minority students taking AP tests is significantly less than that of their peers.

SAT Key Findings
• From 2009 to 2014, PAUSD SAT test takers increased 15% (715 students to 763 students).
• Mean Scale Scores from 2009 to 2014 are increasing in PAUSD but not in California

state scores remain level.

SAT score gaps indicate we need a system-wide solution to assure all students have opportunities
and access to achieve at high levels.
• The most recent SAT results show a gap of 200 points between students from families with incomes greater than $200K and less than $100 K
• Combined (CR+M+W) SAT scores of under-represented minority students are about 300 points lower than those of their peers

Alumni Summary Key Findings
• Students felt well prepared in Math and English/Writing, but also wanted more preparation in technical writing (this comes up in written comments).
• Science lab reports emerges from survey as an area of focus.
• Overall, our students felt well prepared to use technology.
• Balancing school work and social life is a challenge for students across the consortium.
