Hertz South Africa Newsletter - March 2014

Newsletter The past 14 months have been a steep learning curve for me in particular but I am happy to report that I can see the first signs that we have turned the corner. It gives me great pleasure to report that it has been a huge collective team effort and that historical gremlins are being dealt with and rapidly eradicated. All the departments have made an enormous effort to deal with problems, work smarter and contributed to the turnaround. Our revenue has grown by more than 20% compared to previous year and we are almost at a point where I can report that unnecessary spending is under control. Our fleet is at an all-time high, our revenue per day is on target, utilisation is at an acceptable level and cash flow has improved significantly and our new locations are performing better than expected. Damages and fleet maintenance remain a challenge and will hopefully soon be resolved. More focus is being paid to our IT systems and infrastructure and as we all know, underpins the effectiveness of our operations. We have also launched a much more dedicated and focused training programme, the results of which we have already seen. I am excited about the future and hope we can continue with the improvements.

The past 14 months have been a steep learning curve for me in particular but I am happy to report that I can see the first signs that we have turned the corner.
