FOLIAR FERTILZATION Plants absorb essential nutrients not only through the roots but also through the leaves. Foliar fertilizers are therefore, in an appropriate application, suitable for a faster absorption of nutrients in the plant. The foliar application in the form of suspensions, with suitable ingredients can cause optimal wetting of the leaves. On the underside of the leaf there is a higher number of stomata (leaf pores), therefore, the underside of the leaf should also be wetted. Thus, an acute lack of nutrients in the plant can usually be remedied quickly. Foliar fertilization is also an additional adjunct to soil fertilization for the following reasons: Foliar fertilization improves the absorption of nutrients from the soil

during certain growing stages Foliar fertilization is particularly helpful in the lack of micronutrients Foliar fertilization is effective for balancing and immobilizing main and

trace nutrients in soil due to drought, cold, soil type and, above all, high pH values

2. Improved tolerance to biotic / abiotic stress situations

Biotic stress is the result of damage to plants by other living organisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, beneficial and harmful insects, weeds, as well as cultured native plants.

Abiotic stress is defined as the negative impact of non-living factors on living organisms in a certain environment. (Dryness, moisture, frost and heat damage, etc.)

The Sanovita concept provides advantageous elements e.g. Silicon of natural origin and micronutrients and stimulates the metabolism of the plant to improve the synthesis of stress metabolite degrading enzymes (SOD, catalase, peroxidase).

PAL - Phenylalanine ammonia lyase is a key enzyme for plants. PAL promotes the synthesis of phytochemicals called phytoalexins.

Phytoalexins are low molecular, antimicrobial chemical compounds that are produced by the plant immediately after infection by microorganisms (such as bacteria or fungi) to inhibit their spread, growth or reproduction in plants.

The Sanovita concept provides additional macro and micronutrients, thus stimulating the plant metabolism to increase the synthesis of PAL activity and thereby enhance the production of phytoalexins.
