    Kings RoadThe Kings Road is an ancient highwayof historical, cultural and tourist inter-est following the medieval mail coachroute. It links the Nordic capitals Osloand Stockholm with Turku and Helsinkiin Finland and further with St. Peters-burg in Russia. Since the 14th centuryKings and Merchants, artists and pil-grims, have travelled the Kings Road,but still today, it endows travelers withan excellent possibility to learn aboutFinnish history and nature in a nut-shell.

    Nowadays the Kings Road focuses oncontemporary southern Finnish artsand science. Also numerous culturalevents are regularly held along thishistorical path. The meeting of Eastand West have created a unique cul-tural treasury, waiting to be discoveredby you.

    For Finlands part, the Kings Road isthe first northern European route tocarry the white-brown signs denotingsights of interest. It is the first officialtourist trail in Finland. It runs alongthe main roads of the southern coast-
